HALLOWEEN DANCE & SPIRIT DAY GUIDELINES
🎃 Let’s Keep It Fun and School-Appropriate! 🎃
1. Follow the School Dress Code
All costumes must meet school dress code standards. This includes appropriate length, coverage, and footwear. If you wouldn’t wear it on a regular school day, don’t wear it to the dance or on Spirit Day. NO INFLATABLES ON SPIRIT DAY
2. No Masks or Face Paint - students will be asked to remove them or wash off their face paint.
Students must keep their faces visible at all times. Full or partial masks, face paint, or makeup that hides identity are not allowed. Simple accessories like headbands or hats are okay if they don’t block your face.
3. No Replica Weapons or Dangerous Props
Leave all toy guns, swords, knives, and other imitation weapons at home. Even fake or plastic versions are not permitted for safety reasons.
4. Keep It School Appropriate
Avoid costumes that include blood, gore, violent themes, or offensive language/images. Let’s make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe celebrating together.
5. Thursday Before Halloween – Spirit Day - 10/29.
You can show your Halloween spirit with themed shirts, hats, or colors (orange, black, purple). Just remember — no masks, no face paint, and no costumes that distract from learning, including inflatables.

CHECKING OUT A STUDENT DURING LUNCHTIME
We understand there may be times when a student needs to be checked out during the school day. Please note that doing so during lunchtime can present some challenges, as students are spread out and may not hear their names called over the intercom.
Whenever possible, it’s much easier to check students out before or after lunch. Mondays and Tuesdays lunch is from 11:52 - 12:27, Wednesdays and Thursday lunch is from 12:12 - 12:47 and on Fridays lunch is from 12:22 - 12:57. Thank you for your patience and support in helping us keep the process smooth and safe.

Simi Valley Unified District will be utilizing the Aeries computer system again this year for your child’s academic progress, as well as health, contact information and communication. It is required that all families complete the data confirmation in the Aeries portal.
NOTE: When updating contact information, it would be helpful to use a cell phone number as the primary number. This will allow you to receive the text messages the school sends out. If you need assistance logging into the Aeries Parent Portal, our school office can assist you.
