One Book, One School (OBOS) ~ Because of the Rabbit
Today, we shared the title of the book we will be reading together for our One Book, One School ! EVERY student received the book Because of the Rabbit by Cynthia Lord to take home and read with their families. Look for the books and bookmarks to come home with your student(s) TODAY (1/16).
- Linked HERE is a schedule of the readings each week. The Monday following a week of reading, there will be trivia questions for students to answer at school!
- Mill Valley Staff members recorded each chapter for students to listen to if that option works better for your family! The audio recordings are provided in this link.
Thank you in advance for participating in this fun all school activity!
Special THANK YOU to the PTO for funding the purchase of the books for each student.
Has your student been out sick?
If your child has been out sick and you visited the doctor, please submit a doctor's note to the office. We can then change the absence code from ILL (illness) to DRX (doctor excused). Illnesses or appointments with medical documentation (doctor's note) are exempt from the 10-day total.

Upcoming Friendship Parties 2/14
As you know, we have transitioned away from using edible treats for birthdays school-wide. With Valentine’s Day approaching, we want to remind everyone that this will also apply to Valentine’s Day celebrations. Food-based items are not allowed for the Valentine exchange. There are many non-food based options such as bouncy balls, glow sticks, slime, etc. Any edible treats brought to school will be sent back home. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
You will receive more specific communication from your child(ren)'s teacher.
2024-2025 Family Communication Plan
This year, classroom teachers will be teaching with two new resources! This will be an adjustment for staff, students, and parents/caregivers. We want to be sure to offer multiple opportunities to keep families engaged and learning alongside our staff and students.
Each month, there will be a short recorded presentation shared with you that answers a focus question. The videos will cover various curriculum topics. Please see the outline below. These videos will be linked in school newsletters and posted on the Muskego-Norway Teaching and Learning website.
The December topic focuses on literacy instruction, including strategies and ideas for supporting literacy development at home.
