The Principal's Corner
October 10, 2025
Dear Families,
We’ve had an incredible first month of school! I invite you to take a look at the pictures included in this newsletter highlighting our Special Breakfast celebration for students who completed both their Summer Math AND Summer Reading packets. Thanks to your support and collaboration, we had a record number of students complete BOTH packets this year! I am truly grateful for our partnership, and I am proud to share that our students are off to a fantastic start!
This week, we also held our Student Council Elections! I was extremely impressed with the students' speeches and their desire to get involved and make our school shine. Student voice is critical to our school's success. I am looking forward to working with them and their Club Advisor, Ms. Stanzione.
We also closed out Hispanic Heritage Month and the Week of Respect. I enjoyed seeing the children participate in the daily dress down activities. Our next NUT Day activity is on the 22nd as we show up in orange to take a unified stand against bullying.

Welcome back!!
Our school year is off to a wonderful start! Our students are working hard and shining bright each day. The "Week of Respect" was a big hit and we all loved coming in dressed up for each theme daily. We are learning to always show respect and kindness both at school and at home.
Health and Wellness Reminders from Nurse Falk
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to a new school year! As the school nurse, I’m excited to support your child’s health and well-being throughout the year. Below are a few important reminders and health tips to help ensure a healthy and safe start for all our students.
🩺 Health Office Reminders
Health Forms: Please make sure your child’s health records are up to date. This includes immunization records, physical exams (especially for new students), and any chronic condition management plans (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies).
Medications at School: If your child requires medication during the school day, please provide a completed medication authorization form (contact me for the forms) signed by both you and your child’s healthcare provider. Medications must be brought in by an adult in the original labeled container—students should not transport medications.
🤧 When to Keep Your Child Home
To help prevent the spread of illness, please keep your child home if they have:
A fever of 100.4°F or higher (contact me for a thermometer)
Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours
A persistent cough or sore throat
Red, itchy eyes with discharge
A rash of unknown origin
Students should be fever-free for 24 hours (without medication) before returning to school.
🦠 Managing Allergies & Chronic Conditions
Please inform the health office of any allergies or chronic conditions. If your child has:
Food or environmental allergies: Provide an up-to-date allergy action plan and EpiPen (if prescribed).
Asthma: Send in an asthma action plan and rescue inhaler.
Diabetes, seizures, or other medical conditions: Please contact me directly to ensure an individualized care plan is in place.
🥪 Healthy Habits for a Healthy Year
Encourage your child to:
Get enough sleep each night (9–11 hours is ideal for school-aged children)
Eat a healthy diet
Stay hydrated throughout the day (please send water bottles daily)
Wash hands regularly to reduce the spread of germs
If you have any questions or need to share important health information about your child, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Health Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:35am-2:45pm.
Thank you for your partnership in keeping our school community healthy and thriving. I look forward to a safe and successful school year!
Warm regards,
