My Texas Future Direct Admissions Program

Beginning with this year’s seniors, Cohort 2027, students must elect to opt in or opt out of the My Texas Future Direct Admissions Program prior to graduation.

  • Opt In: Students will create an account through My Texas Future and complete the opt-in process.

  • Opt Out: Students and families will complete the state-approved opt-out form. We have been informed that the state is currently developing the form and anticipate that it will be released soon.

Cavalier Family,

Direct Admissions is a new feature available within My Texas Future, which is a college and career advising website for Texas students who are looking to enter college in their futures.

With Direct Admissions, students can easily and immediately find out if they qualify for admission to colleges & universities as early as the end of their junior year.

My Texas Future matches their self-reported academic information with the admission requirements of institutions within Texas and immediately notifies the student if they qualify for admission. Starting in the 2026-2027 school year, each student in the state of Texas must satisfy a new direct admissions requirement to graduate from College Park. Students must do one of the following before they can graduate:

  • Create a profile on the My Texas Future website and choose to participate in the Direct Admissions program.
  • Sign an opt out form and turn it in to the student’s school counselor. Please contact your counselor for more information about opting out.

Students should visit the My Texas Future websiteLinks to an external site. to create an account. If a student already has an Apply Texas account, they can use the same email address and password to login.

Students in all grade levels can create a profile through Direct Admissions. Knowing in advance where they can qualify for admission can give students the confidence to take on the college application process and save valuable time.

Reach out to your counselor with any questions!
