Each year, the Akron Elks generously provide our 3rd-grade class with a dictionary. This valuable resource not only enhances vocabulary but also encourages students to explore language and improve their communication skills. By having their own dictionary, students can discover new words, understand their meanings, and use them confidently in their writing and conversations.

On Wednesday, 51 members of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) gathered at the Elks Lodge in Fort Morgan for an engaging Fall Conference. Throughout the event, students participated in various hands-on activities at different stations, where they not only learned practical skills but also delved into the significance of the American flag's folding ceremony.

Following the conference, the group spent a delightful afternoon at Pope Farms pumpkin patch, where they explored the vibrant autumn atmosphere and enjoyed seasonal activities. This experience allowed students to bond and create lasting memories while embracing the spirit of community and leadership.

Monday night marked the inaugural gathering of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). Led by Austin Couch, 17 student-athletes came together to grow their faith, fellowship and purpose.

Looking ahead, the group plans to meet regularly on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month, providing ongoing opportunities for fellowship and spiritual development.

All three teams-A, B, and D—achieved victory against the Holyoke Dragons in a thrilling display of skill and teamwork on Monday.

The A and D teams traveled to Haxtun on Thursday to compete in their final regular season matches, showcasing their strategies and teamwork.

The A team will compete in the league tournament in Merino on Saturday, with matches starting at 9 AM. They are prepared to face tough competition and aim to secure their spot in the playoffs.
