We Did It! Our First Week of Kindergarten
Dear Kindergarten Families,
We did it—we finished our first week of kindergarten!
Our kids did an AMAZING job! I hope they are loving being at the Kindergarten Center as much as we are loving having them here. It has been so much fun watching them come through the doors each day, get a little more comfortable, and start to realize that this is their school!
This week was all about getting to know one another and learning our routines. There is a lot to learn when you are five! We practiced walking through the halls, getting to our classrooms, following classroom routines, learning dismissal procedures, and so much more. We will continue practicing these routines because they help our students feel comfortable, confident, and successful at school.
I also want to thank our families for your patience this week. I know the early dismissal schedule can be confusing, especially during the first week when everyone is still learning the routine. I am hoping that when we return next week and begin our regular schedule, things will continue to get easier and smoother for everyone.
One important reminder as we move forward: Please make sure you are on time for dismissal and at your child's bus stop before the bus arrives. If no adult is at the bus stop to receive your child, the bus driver will return your child to the Kindergarten Center. We then need to contact you and have someone come to the school to pick them up. Having everyone in the right place at the right time helps us make sure all of our little Royals get home safely.
A few reminders for next week:
- Friday, September 4 – No School
- Monday, September 7 – No School
- Wednesday, September 9 – Early Dismissal
I hope everyone enjoys the long weekend! Let your little ones rest—they worked hard this week!
Thank you for sharing your children with us and for trusting us with them each day. We already love having them as part of our Kindergarten Center family, and I can't wait to see everything they accomplish this year.
One week down and so many wonderful kindergarten memories still to come!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Emergency Card Information
Each year emergency cards are distributed to families so that our families can update information, add emergency contacts, etc. The emergency cards are due back to the school by September 11th. If you need to remove an emergency contact from your child's list, please do this through the Home Access Center (HAC). If you need assistance accessing HAC, please contact your child's principal.
