Sports Physicals
***Any 7th, 9th, or 11th grader that is going to play a sport MUST have a sports physical in order to practice or play. We need all parents and athletes to communicate with the Athletic Directors and Coaches if they have asthma, diabetes, or other health information that requires a treatment modality. We want to make sure we are educated to provide the support that is needed for your child(ren) as they participate in athletics. Thank you.***

Principals Perspective
Dear Oakley Jr-Sr High School Students, Parents, and Guardians:
Welcome to the 2026ā2027 school year! I hope your summer has been filled with opportunities to relax, spend time with family and friends, and create lasting memories. On behalf of our faculty and staff, I am excited to welcome everyone back to Oakley Jr-Sr High School. We look forward to another year of learning, growth, and celebrating the many accomplishments of our students.
The beginning of a new school year is an opportunity for a fresh start. It brings new goals, new friendships, and new opportunities to learn and grow. Whether you are entering seventh grade, returning as a senior, or joining the Oakley community for the first time, we are excited to have you as part of the Hornet family.
At Oakley Jr-Sr High School, our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed. Our dedicated teachers and staff are committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while preparing them for success beyond high school. We believe every student can achieve great things through hard work, perseverance, and positive relationships.
I encourage every student to become involved in school. Participate in athletics, FFA, FCCLA, Career Technical Education, Youth Government, Aca-Deca, IBOB, History Month, Theater/Show Choir, and the many activities that make Oakley Jr-Sr High School such a special place. The experiences you gain both inside and outside the classroom help build confidence, leadership, and lifelong memories.
As we begin the year, I would also like to ask for parents for your partnership in two areas that have a significant impact on student success: attendance and cell phone use during instructional time.
First, regular attendance matters. Students who are in school every day are more engaged, build stronger relationships with teachers and classmates, and experience greater academic success. While illnesses and emergencies do occur, we ask families to make school attendance a priority whenever possible. Every day in the classroom provides valuable learning experiences that cannot always be replicated through make-up work. Students are required to be in attendance at school at least ninety percent (90%) of the time that school is in session during each semester and summer school term (CCSD Policy 522).
Second, we ask for your support in reinforcing responsible cell phone use (CCSD Policy 518). Cell phones can be valuable tools when used appropriately, but they can also become distractions that interfere with learning and classroom engagement. During instructional time, students are expected to follow school and classroom expectations regarding cell phone use so they can remain focused on learning and actively participate in class. We appreciate parents reinforcing these expectations at home and helping students understand the importance of being fully engaged during the school day. We need that support from parents for the respect of class time and the teachers time.
When schools and families work together, students benefit. Your support with attendance, classroom expectations, and communication with our staff plays a vital role in helping every student reach their full potential. We value the partnership we share with our parents and appreciate your continued support of Oakley Jr-Sr High School.
This year, we will continue to focus on building a positive school culture rooted in respect, responsibility, kindness, and high expectations. We will continue to recognize our students with C.A.R.E. cards (Considerate, Accountable, Receptive, Engaged) for making a difference in our school. Together, we can create an environment where every student feels welcomed, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
Thank you for your continued trust and support. I am grateful for our outstanding students, dedicated staff, and supportive families who make Oakley Jr-Sr High School such a special place. I look forward to celebrating another successful year together.
Here's to a fantastic 2026ā2027 school year!

"O-Day" Activities--May 2026
We ended last year with an "O-Day". What is an O-Day? It is a day to give back to the Oakley community and taking pride in our school. Some of the service projects that the students completed were: painting the O on the dam, painting the benches at the park and clean-up, painting the bleachers at the rodeo grounds, cleaning up around the blocks close to the school, cleaning up weeds and garbage around the track and the school, and re-fixing broken bleachers for patrons to sit on. The old gym was going to get a fresh coat of paint, along with the bleachers, but mother nature had plans. We really appreciate our students, teachers, and staff taking part in participating in our "O-Day". If the Oakley community has any ideas for a service project that would benefit our community, please contact Mr. Wadsworth. We would like to have our "O-Day" at the end of each school year in May. Thank you Oakley community for all your support.
