Student Goal Sheets Student Goal Sheets

This school year, each student will create their own, personalized goal sheet. The sheet will be updated weekly in homeroom and include their goals for grades, GPA (grade point average), CDT and IXL scores, as well as behavioral goals. Please discuss the sheets with your students and support the discussions we are having with them at school.

PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports) PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports)

Don't forget about our PBIS program at LJH. Encourage your child to demonstrate positive behaviors so they can earn rewards daily at school. Students are able to use their points to "buy" items from either the school or teacher PBIS store. We will have large scale celebrations at the end of each marking period, as well as raffles at the midpoint of each marking period. If you have any connections to local businesses who may be willing to partner with us, please reach out and let us know!

It is 100% anonymous and operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. You are ALWAYS able to reach out to us directly with any concerns you have, but can also utilize Safe2Say as another resource. We want school to be a positive experience for each and every student - help us make it happen!

Please make sure to read the Parent Engagement Policy and Parent Engagement Compact you receive this week and reach out to us to get involved.

CDT/IXL Testing & Summer School Reminder for 2026 CDT/IXL Testing & Summer School Reminder for 2026

During the first few weeks of school, students will be taking Diagnostic CDT tests, as well as using IXL to gain a snapshot of their skill areas in the subjects of Math, English Language Arts, and Science. Staff will use the results of these tests to plan instruction and help each and every student on their own individual level.

Please remember that Summer School will not be offered in 2026, so we will be using these test results to plan additional interventions for students throughout the school year. We ask you encourage your child to do their best when participating so we can make sure they get the help they need!

Friday, September 26th will be a Remote Learning Day for Junior High Students. While they will not physically report to school, students will be expected to complete assignments at home in order to be marked present for that day.
