Class Dojo
Class Dojo
Student Access to Class Dojo
Students should not use the parent link to join Class Dojo. Instead, students should log in with their GCS accounts.
1. Check your GCS email to see if any of your teachers have invited you to connect on Class Dojo. If you haven't received an email invitation, none of your teachers have invited you to connect. Reach out to a teacher and ask them to send you an invite!
2. Click the link in the invitation email.
3. Select "Sign in with Microsoft".
4. Use the version of your GCS email that has your last name, first initial, and last 4 digits of your ID number in it. (LastF1234@stu.gcsnc.com).
5. You will then get a second screen with the GCS logo on it that asks for an email and password. Use the version of your email that uses your full student number and no letters (1234567@stu.gcsnc.com). Your password is your birthday.
This should result in you being logged in and able to access messaging with your teacher. If this does not work, please email Ms. Barnes (barnesa3@gcsnc.com) with your full name and a description of the issue, and include screenshots of any error messages you received if possible.
We've replaced Talking Points with Class Dojo for all parent-teacher communication. To get started, download the Class Dojo app, log in to or create a parent account, and use this link to join our school.
How to Connect:
You should have received an invitation with instructions on how to connect with your student. If you did not receive an invitation, it means we do not have a correct email on file for you. Please update your email through Infinite Campus! In the meantime, you may use this link to join our school. This link is for parents and guardians only; students will receive separate instructions from their teachers on how to access their student accounts on Class Dojo.
Once you request to connect, your connection request must be manually approved by school staff to ensure you're connecting with the correct student. This process protects student privacy and ensures compliance with FERPA regulations. After your connection is approved, your student's schedule will update automatically.
What You'll Have Access To:
- Send and receive private messages with your student's teachers
- View class and school announcements through messages and social media-style feeds
- See calendar events and learn about upcoming activities
- Access links and downloads for important files throughout the year
- Communicate in 130+ languages with automatic two-way translation
Language Settings:
Class Dojo allows you to select your preferred language and will automatically translate content for you. Check out these instructions to set your language preferences and turn on translation tools.
Important Notes:
- All GCS tools are completely free. Class Dojo offers a premium version, but you should select "Not Now" or "No Thanks" to any paid add-ons.
- Adjust your notification settings to opt out of marketing messages from the app.
Need Help?
If you have any questions or issues once your account is set up, email parent@classdojo.com(opens in new tab) for immediate support.
We're looking forward to building even stronger family-school connections with Class Dojo!
Regular Reminders
Translated directions
Please see the links below to directions for the Infinite Campus Parent Portal translated into multiple languages.
AP Parent Letters
If your student is enrolled in any AP courses this school year, parents should complete this form: AP Parent Letter (digital)
This form includes information about exam dates, costs, and other policies.
Honors Course Information
NCDPI requires that schools inform families about the unique expectations and opportunities for students in honors courses. Honors courses are designed for students who are prepared to think critically, engage deeply with challenging ideas, and demonstrate perseverance as they develop the skills needed for future success in college, careers, and beyond. While Honors courses are appropriately rigorous, they are designed to provide meaningful challenge rather than simply more work.
Throughout the year, students can expect engaging learning experiences that encourage inquiry, collaboration, thoughtful discussion, problem solving, and independent thinking. Our teachers are committed to providing the support, feedback, and encouragement students need as they grow academically and develop confidence in tackling complex work.
Families are important partners in this process. Encouraging regular attendance, strong organizational habits, and open communication about learning can make a meaningful difference in your childβs success. We encourage students to embrace challenges, ask questions, and seek assistance whenever needed.
If your student is enrolled in an honors course, their teachers should be sharing more specific information about how their class meets state-level expectations for honors courses. Please reach out to your student's teacher if you have any questions!
