First Graders in "Science Experiences" First Graders in "Science Experiences"

MSD School Board member Janis Braich volunteered to help run the first grade Science Experiences that started this month.

All schools and all elementary grades participate in the hands-on program, which takes place throughout the year. First graders learn about Sound and Light Energy.

Winter Sports Championships

Congratulations to the MHS swim teams! Last weekend, the girls won the Pacific Conference championship and the boys placed second. Overall, the swim team qualified 14 swimmers to the state meet this Saturday.

Good luck to the Grizzly wrestlers who will be participating in the Pacific Conference district wrestling tournament this Saturday.. The MHS grapplers finished second in league this year with their only loss being to nationally ranked Newberg.

Both the boys and girls basketball teams picked up down-to-wire wins against county rivals Newberg this week. With one week to go in the regular season, both teams remain squarely in the playoff hunt.

Finally, shoutout to the MHS Co-ed cheer squad for their third place finish at the OSAA state cheerleading championship this past Saturday. Go Grizzlies!!

Parent Roundtables

The February monthly roundtable meeting with parents is scheduled for next Tuesday, Feb.22, at 5:30 p.m.

While I hope to move to in-person meetings at some point, this month will still be via Zoom. The meetings are intended to be open conversations about how the district can better meet the needs of your children.

You don’t have to RSVP and you don’t have to stay the entire hour. Join me!
