One School, One Book

We are thrilled to have you and your family join our shared reading experience! Thanks to our wonderful PSO partnership, each student will receive a free copy of the book The Mouse and the Motorcycle by Beverly Cleary.

Over the next three weeks, we invite you to read this book together as a family each evening. Our goal is to make reading fun and enjoyable while bringing our entire school community together to talk about the same story. To help keep everyone on track, we've attached a reading schedule. Each week, you'll have different chapters to read or listen to.

You can read the chapters out loud as a family, or listen to the chapters being read by one of our BBH Primary School teachers! The links to these audio chapters are on the bookmark inside your child's book.

The story is written at a third-grade level and includes some vocabulary that might be new for our younger students. That’s perfectly okay! Exploring new words and experiencing the story about friendship and care will be enjoyable for everyone in your family.

We also hope that after this activity, you’ll keep the habit of reading stories aloud to your child. Just 15-20 minutes of reading together each night can make a big difference in your child’s success at school.
