Turkey Feather Hunt Game
🦃 Game: “Turkey Feather Hunt”
Players: Any number (best in small teams or groups)
Play Time: 10–20 minutes
Goal: Collect the most turkey feathers by completing fun Thanksgiving challenges!
🎯 What You Need:
-
Construction paper (different colors)
-
Scissors
-
Markers
-
Tape
-
Basket or small box (for each team)
🧡 Setup:
-
Cut out feathers from construction paper (about 20–30 total).
-
Write a challenge or question on each feather. Examples:
-
“Gobble like a turkey for 10 seconds!”
-
“Name 3 things you’re thankful for.”
-
“Do 5 jumping jacks.”
-
“Pretend you’re mashed potatoes being stirred!”
-
“Share your favorite Thanksgiving food.”
-
-
Hide the feathers around the room or yard.
🦃 How to Play:
-
Split the kids into small teams (or play individually).
-
When you say “GO!”, kids start searching for feathers.
-
When they find one, they must complete the challenge written on it before adding it to their basket.
-
After all feathers are found, count them up!
🏆 Winning:
-
The team (or player) with the most feathers wins a small prize—like a sticker, bookmark, or “Turkey Champion” certificate.
💡 Variation Ideas:
-
For older kids: Add trivia questions about Thanksgiving history.
-
For younger kids: Use picture-based challenges (like “find a red feather” or “flap like a turkey”).
-
For classrooms: Hide feathers with vocabulary words, and kids must use the word in a thankful sentence.

Facts about Guardianship
Guardianship is a legal process where a court appoints a person (guardian) to make decisions for another person (ward) who cannot make certain decisions independently.
Types of Guardianship
-
Full Guardianship – Guardian has authority over personal, medical, and financial decisions.
-
Limited Guardianship – Guardian only makes decisions in specific areas.
-
Temporary or Emergency Guardianship – Granted for a short period in urgent situations.
Who May Need Guardianship?
-
Children under 18 without parents, adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities, or elderly individuals who are incapacitated.
Court Oversight
-
Guardians are accountable to the court and may need to file reports on the ward’s well-being and finances.
Alternatives to Guardianship
-
Supported decision-making, powers of attorney, or healthcare proxies may provide more independence than full guardianship.
Rights of the Ward
-
Individuals under guardianship retain certain rights unless specifically removed by the court.
Guardian’s Responsibilities
-
Duties may include managing healthcare, housing, education, finances, and daily living needs.
State Laws Vary
-
Guardianship rules and procedures differ by state, so local legal guidance is essential.
