Ivan Green Weekly Update
February 2, 2024
Welcome from Mr. Hiley
Dear IG Families:
What a great week! It's finally February AND we had such a terrific turn out for our Lunch with Lancers event! We were so excited to see almost 300 of you! We were excited with our turn-out and had fun counting the number of people who came every day.
Here is our break-down:
Monday - 41
Tuesday - 52
Wednesday - 70
Thursday - 55
Friday - 76
You are welcome to lunch with your Lancer any time! We do not always have extra treats and photo props, but you are welcome to join us whenever you can.
With February upon us, I wanted to remind you of our upcoming week off of school. Winter break will be February 19 through the 23. With any luck, the weather will be appropriately wintry, and all our kids can get some good snow playtime in.
Sincerely,
Lucas Hiley, Ed.D.
Principal

Kids Heart Challenge
We have reached 63% of our goal for the Kids Heart Challenge, which is $1,257.44! Way to go, Lancer Families! Don’t forget to register your student! Donations are welcome but not required. All proceeds go directly to the American Heart Association!
From Nurse Izzo
Ivan Green is currently seeing students with frequent, dry coughs and flu-like symptoms. If your student is showing illness signs, please take their temperature before school. Coughs that are dry, consistent, with very little to no stopping point, inhibit your child’s ability to learn and generally are too sick to be in school. The recommendation for a cough like that is to visit the pediatrician. A temperature of 100.4 or higher is considered a fever. Students must stay home for a full 24 hours after symptoms have resolved without the help of fever-reducing medications before returning to school. Vomiting and diarrhea requires your student to be symptom free from the last episode for a full 24 hours before returning. If your student starts any antibiotics, they must stay home for a full 24 hours from the first dose before returning. If you are comfortable sharing your child’s diagnosis, please reach out to me. It helps us track certain infections and implement other infection prevention protocols, if necessary. If you have any questions, my phone number is 339-1314. Have a great weekend!

Peek at our Week
It was a week filled with exciting things! Mrs. Grow came for career week, students played reading games and had a fun day on the Global Day of Play. We enjoyed lunch with our grown-up loved ones, too!
