Hello Centerview families!

What a GREAT night we just enjoyed at our annual Centerview Meet & Greet! Our CV staff thoroughly enjoyed meeting our new students and families while reconnecting with so many returning students and families.

There’s something special about seeing our school community come together again and even more special about welcoming new members to the Centerview family. We’re excited for another great year!

Hopefully, our Meet & Greet, along with ongoing school and district communication, has provided you with the information and support needed to have your student ready for their first day of school on Monday, August 31. If you have any additional questions or need clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the Centerview office. We are happy to help!

As a reminder, if you will be picking up your student from Centerview each day at dismissal, you will need to register in the office. We will provide you with a pick-up number and review the expectations and procedures for dismissal. Additional information specific to drop-off and pick-up is provided below.

Enjoy these last few days of summer, and we look forward to welcoming our students back to Centerview!

Take care,

Mike

CV Arrival and Dismissal Expectations

As we jump back into the new year at Centerview, here are the expectations for dropping off and picking up your child(ren). Our collective efforts in following the subsequent procedures will ensure that our students and our families are safe each day.

Drop-off

  • All students, not riding the bus, can be dropped off curbside at the front of the school each day between 9:00 and 9:20 a.m. When dropping off, please have your student(s) ready to get out once you have pulled up in front of Centerview where staff will be assisting students exiting their vehicles.
  • The first 10 cars will line up in front of Centerview starting at the crosswalk stop sign and ending at the Field 48 NSC Sign. Once the first 10 cars are lined up bumper to bumper to the identified cones and spaces, cars will then park in the Centerview restricted parking area in rows 1-6 as the map identifies.
  • Families are not allowed to walk their student/s to the front of the school from the parking lot. PLEASE do not drop children off in the parking lot and have them walk up to the school on their own or expect them to enter the parking lot without an adult. There will be no crossing guard.
  • Students arriving between 9:00 and 9:10 a.m. will enter (door #13) the hallway going to the Commons Café’, wait patiently until the 9:10 a.m. bell rings or enter the Commons Café for breakfast. Support and supervision will be present curb side and in the gymnasium.
  • Students arriving between 9:10-9:20 a.m. will enter through the front entrance (door #1) of the school and immediately proceed to breakfast or their classroom.

Pick-up

  • All students, not riding the bus, can be picked up curbside at the front of the school each day between, 3:55 and 4:10 p.m.
  • Students will be brought from their classroom to the gymnasium at 3:50 each day.
  • Please have your school issued pick up number visible on your dashboard or visor. Each day a staff member will need your visible pick-up number to identify your place in line.
  • When families arrive curbside to pick up, authorized family and friends will be matched by number, and the student(s) will be dismissed. Your student(s) will be standing at a colored cone and staff assist your student(s) in getting into your vehicle.
  • If you have not received or need a car number, call the office for next steps – 763-600-5500
  • As signs indicate, no cars will be left unattended on the yellow curb.
  • Families are not allowed to walk up to the gymnasium to pick-up their student from the front of the school parking lot or from the yellow curb.
  • If there is a change to your child’s pickup routine, you must call the office before 3:15 p.m. to make the change.
  • Parents are not allowed to take a child off the bus to conclude the day. Please go directly to the office if you would like to have your child taken off the bus at dismissal. At this time, it might be too late.
  • Signage has been added to communicate our end of the day procedure and partnership with the National Sports Center.

2026-2027 School Handbook

Our Spring Lake Park Schools School Handbook for 2026-2027 is now available. The handbook is a guide for families and students on the practical aspects of school – start and end times, procedures for absences, transportation, meals, policies and more. Please review the information and refer to it, as needed, throughout the year and contact your school as you have questions.

Transportation reminders for a new year

  • Bus Tracking (MyStop app): We use MyStop, which is web-based application available to parents and students that allows them access to live bus GPS information. Using a smartphone or tablet, parents and students can view the current location of buses on routes and the estimated time of arrival at their neighborhood bus stops. Learn more about MyStop.
  • Bus Safety: It is very important all students and families understand our bus safety rules. See the full bus safety list on the transportation webpage.
  • Plan to ride the bus on first day of school: For students who ride the bus, please plan for your student to ride the bus on the first day of school to help us work out all our routines and eliminate as much confusion as possible.
  • Transportation webpage and contact information: Find all transportation information on the transportation webpage. For any questions regarding transportation, please contact the transportation department at transportation@district16.org or 763-600-5590.

Review beginning of the year notifications

At the beginning of each year, we provide families with important notifications. Many of these notifications align to our school district policies and practices. Please take a few minutes to review the information and take any actions that align with your family’s preferences. All notification policies can be found on the Back to School hub.

These notices cover:

  • Sharing photos, videos and success stories
  • Protection and privacy of student records and information
  • Digital tools and data privacy
  • Internet, Technology and Cell Phone Acceptable Use
  • Voluntary supplemental student accident insurance

Printed district calendar update

All families should have received a printed district calendar in the mail this month. If your family does not use it or have a need for it - rather than throwing it away - we ask that you please consider returning to the District Services Center main office (1415 81st Ave. NE). There is a bin there to place it in and we will repurpose and reuse!

New digital scoreboards at the high school

If you get to a soccer or football game this fall in Panther Stadium, you'll notice a new digital scoreboard. In partnership with a group of community fundraisers, we were able to move forward with installation of this enhancement over the summer. There are also digital scoreboards in the Panther gym and at the softball and baseball fields.

The scoreboards will provide clear, real-time updates, flexible multi-sport use, and bright LED visibility from any angle. Learn more about sponsorship and other visibility opportunities on this sponsorship handout and check out the scoreboards at an upcoming game.
