REDESIGN + COMMUNITY SCHOOL UPDATES πͺ
As we shared earlier this fall, collective input is a key component of Community Schools and for our School ReDesign. Thank you to those who were able to complete this fallβs family survey and/or for attending our Coffee with the Principal or other input meetings. Your voice and input is essential to us as we work to design our schoolβs systems, services and programs to meet our communityβs needs.
The ReDesign Team recently met on 12/4 to review community input and see how we can begin ideating for building school structures that support the 6 Learner-Centered Practices:
1) Establishing a Clear Identity
2) Small Learning Communities
3) Real World Learning
4) Performance Assessment of Whole-Learner Outcomes
5) Distributed Leadership
6) Teacher Collaboration
More to come!
GRANT RECEIVED FROM ESCONDIDO EDUCATION FOUNDATION π΅π²
Our Community Specialist, Ms. Shaffer, received a grant that will fund exciting new recess equipment---giant Jenga, hula hoops, corn hole, jumbo playing cards, etc. We are so excited to use our new toys!
PARKING LOT RULES πππ¨β
Please be sure to follow ALL parking lot rules as directed by staff. If your child is not out at the gate and ready to go, you may be asked to move and do another lap to keep the flow of traffic moving. The upper grade lot does not have room for a passing lane.
Also, for the safety of our TK + Kinder students, we ask that you park and walk up to pick up your child. We cannot release a child into the street. Thank you for your understanding.

ATTENDANCE MATTERS β
Did you know Mondays are our LOWEST attendance day? Let's help improve this school-wide goal to increase attendance on Mondays! We will be having special competitions on Mondays. Please make your best efforts to help send your students to school on this day!
Help us reach our attendance goal of 94% average daily attendance!
Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.
Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
Congrats to all the attendance winners with the highest attendance last week on MONDAY!
TK/K: Hudson + Stears - 2 way tie!
1: Dame
2: T. Hughes
3: Illich, Ortiz, + Stepan- - 3 way tie!
4/5: Tournas
Each of these classrooms received a winner magnet on their door! Keep it up, Bobcats!
