Fresh Honeydew Margarita
INGREDIENTS
Honeydew juice
- 1 honeydew melon
Salted rims
- 3 parts kosher salt
- 1 part ancho chili powder or regular chili powder
- Lime wedges
Ingredients per margarita
- 2 ounces fresh honeydew juice
- 1 ½ ounces tequila, preferably 100% agave silver or blanco tequila
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
4 ounces Honey Dew Melon Fizz Stick , ( From 1 stick mixed with 8 ozes of water)
- Entirely optional: ½ teaspoon agave nectar or simple syrup, more to taste
- To make the honeydew juice: Use a chef’s knife to slice the melon in half. Use a big spoon to scoop out the seeds, then discard them. Use the spoon to scoop pieces of melon into the blender. Put on the lid of your blender and blend until there are no remaining bits of melon. Do not overfill your blender! Work in batches if necessary.
- Prepare your margarita glasses: On a small, rimmed plate, mix together the salt and chili powder. Run a wedge of lime around the top of each glass. Dip the top of the glass into the salt blend at a 45-degree angle and roll it from side to side to catch the salt. Add ice cubes to your glass and set it aside.
- To make margaritas (feel free to make multiple margaritas at once): Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the honeydew juice, tequila and lime juice.
- Put on the lid and shake for 30 seconds. Taste and add sweetener if desired

Honeydew Melon Bellini
Ingredients
- 5 cups of diced honeydew melon about ½ of a large melon
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- Sugar to taste based on the sweetness of the melon
- 1 bottle of chilled prosecco champagne, cava or other sparkling wine
- 8 ozs of water mixed with 1 HoneyDew Fizz Stick
Instructions
Combine the diced honeydew melon with the lime juice and sugar in a blender and blend until you obtain a smooth puree.
Strain the puree, chill for at least 30 minutes or until ready to use. A couple hours is ideal. For an extra smooth puree that is less likely to make the drinks overflow when mixed with the sparkling wine, strain the honeydew puree a second time after chilling. Then chill again for a few hours. It makes a significant difference.
Pour the honeydew melon puree into champagne flutes, no more than half full.
Add the prosecco or other sparkling wine, pouring it gently to avoid making a bubbly mess to fill half a glass.
Top up the other half glass with Honeydew Melon Fizz.
Stir lightly and serve immediately.
Makes 2-4 glasses depending on how big the glass.
Notes
For a non-alcoholic version you can replace the prosecco with HoneyDew Melon Fizz Stick
Melon Sangria
Ingredients
- 3 cups of mixed melon balls watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew
- 2-4 tablespoons of honey adjust to taste
- 1 lime juiced
- ¼ cup to ½ cup of grappa adjust to taste – can also use pisco or a clear grape brandy
- 1 750 ml bottle of moscato wine, chilled
- 1 ½ cups of water mixed with 1.5 HoneyDew Melon Fizz Sticks
To serve and garnish:
- Mint leaves
- Lime slices
- Frozen melon ball ice cubes or regular ice cubes
Instructions
Place the melon balls in a large pitcher, add the honey (2 tablespoons to start), lime juice, and ¼ cup of grappa. Mix gently and let rest in fridge for 1-2 hours or until 1 hour before serving.
Add the moscato wine, mix gently, taste and add more honey or grappa if desired. Keep in mind that you will top it off with sparkling water right before serving, so it’s okay if it’s on the sweeter/stronger side. Refrigerate for another hour.
Right before serving, add ice (or frozen melon balls as ice cubes), lime slices and mint leaves to garnish, and top off with sparkling water. You can prepare the final mix in the pitcher or serve it directly into glasses with melon ice cubes and top off each glass with the sparkling water.
Notes
For a mocktail sangria variation, omit the moscato wine and the grappa, and replace with a HoneyDew Melon Fizz Sticks.
