It is hard to believe summer is coming to an end and we are about to embark on another incredible school year! Our main offices are open, teachers are setting up their classrooms, schedules are being finalized, and we are excited to see our students and families!

Our main office will be sending Meet the Teacher letters in the mail by Friday, August 15th! Included in this envelope will be our school supply lists and school calendars for this school year.

The Depot is putting on a Back-2-School Bash for our families and students! On Thursday, August 14th from 4:00-7:00 families can enjoy a FREE dinner, haircuts, and FREE school supplies! We are truly thankful for our community for always supporting our students, families, and teachers!

Dear EJ Families,

As you are aware, federal and state budget cuts are affecting schools all over the country. Unfortunately, although our state budget has not officially been passed, there have been programs that could be on the chopping block, including after school care through the Out-of-School Time Grant (32n). Historically, East Jordan Elementary School has been able to provide before and after school care through this grant in partnership with Communities in Schools. Due to these probable budget cuts, Communities in Schools will not be able to continue to provide after school programming for our students.

At EJES, we know how critical these programs are for our students and their families, as well as our staff members. We are working diligently behind the scenes to determine a way to continue to provide these programs for this school year and for many years to come. Due to the Out-of-School Time Grant cut, regrettably, we will have to raise daily rates of our before/after school care programming.

We would like to survey our families to determine how many students would be interested in attending our before or after school programming. This survey will allow us to determine if we have enough interest to be able to provide the program as well as how many staff members we might need in order to be in compliance with licensing requirements.

Please fill out the following survey below. The sooner we have results, the sooner we can create a plan for continuing to provide these amazing programs for our students, families, and staff members.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in and donated to our 2025 Cancer Walk! We are thrilled to announce that we more than doubled our goal of $500, raising an amazing $1,255.64!

This money will be donated to Helping Hearts of East Jordan to provide support to members of our East Jordan community who are facing cancer. Your kindness will make a real difference, and we are so proud of our school's efforts to help others.

6th and 7th grade students (Fall of 2025) are eligible to run Cross Country. If you are interested in information for summer running please sign up with Remind using the form attached.

Registration is open for Summer Art & Ballet Dance Camps at Charlevoix Circle of Arts.

Our staff that have come out to read for our students and families have been placed on our new EJ Reads website. This site will be ever growing with read alouds from our students' favorite teachers and support staff. Check out the site!
