Catholic Education Week - October 19 to 23, 2026
Catholic Education Week
Hello families,
From October 17-23, we celebrate the gift of Catholic Education and the community it creates. Catholic Education Week is a time to root ourselves in Christ and to honour the sacred partnership that helps form the minds and hearts of our children. This year’s theme, The Power of the Holy Spirit, reminds us that God's presence is at work in our Catholic schools, guiding and strengthening us as we help our students grow in faith and discover their God-given talents. Throughout this week we reflect on everything that makes our faith-filled learning community exceptional, bringing us together as people Rooted in Joy. Please consider joining our Annunciation Parish for Catholic Education Sunday Mass.
We also encourage you to wear BLUE on Thursday, October 22 to celebrate Catholic Education. Blue is a powerful symbol of constancy, fidelity, genuineness, and aspiration. It also holds a special connection to the Blessed Virgin Mary, making it a fitting choice during October, the month of the rosary.
Secret Path Week is a national movement commemorating the legacies of Gord Downie and Chanie Wenjack, and takes place annually from October 17-22. Our school will be discussing it and remembering its importance throughout the week.
🧡🏒 WHAT A WAY TO WRAP UP OUR ORANGE JERSEY DAY PROJECT! 🧡
Thursday, the rink was the place to be as our teachers took on our students in epic games of ringette and hockey! 🏒🥅
There was plenty of skill, speed, teamwork, and, of course, a little friendly competition! 😄
And in the end… THE TEACHERS TOOK THE WIN IN HOCKEY, WITH A TIE IN RINGETTE! 🎉
🏆 Final Score: Teachers 4 – Students 3! Ringette 2-2
A huge thank you to Mr. Graves, our School Council and everyone else who helped make our Orange Jersey Day Project such a meaningful and memorable experience. 🧡
Way to finish strong, Knights! 🛡️🧡 (see some pictures below).
🎃 Knight Spirit Halloween for Hope: A Carnival of Giving! 🧡
The Knight Spirit Halloween for Hope: A Carnival of Giving is really starting to take shape! Our students have been busy creating fun carnival games, all in support of the Catholic Social Services – Sign of Hope Campaign.
From October 20–30, Knight Spirit students will bring these carnival games to the designated lunch areas. For a $2 donation to charity, students can choose one carnival game to play for a chance to win a small prize or treat! 🎪👻
We hope our STM community will come out, have some Halloween fun, and make a difference—one game at a time! 🧡🎃
Thank you for braving out the cold conditions this week. The division is rushing the part and it will be fixed as soon as humanly possible. They have done a temporary fix to make sure we have heat starting next week.
If you haven't yet, please complete your student verification. The poster is below.
God Bless,
Kevin Myskiw
Important: Complete your Student Verification on PowerSchool

Thank you
