SOL Testing Begins Next Week.
Next week, students in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade will begin their Spring SOL exams. Teachers have been preparing students to take these exams all year. As we prepare for these, please make sure that your student(s) are getting full nights' sleep, getting a full meal, and coming in ready to do their best. Encourage your student to take their time and try their best. If you have any questions, please reach out to the front office.
We Need Your Feedback!
Panorama Survey for Families
ACPS families are invited to take the Panorama Family Survey and share your thoughts on what is working well and where we can improve.
Last year, your feedback helped shape professional learning for our school leaders to strengthen communication, school environments, and family engagement.
π The survey is brief, confidential, and available in multiple languages.

Class Placements
Return your form by April 28: πhttps://bit.ly/SES27class π
Class placements are thoughtfully created through a collaborative process that includes your childβs current classroom teacher, Essentials teachers, resource staff, administrators, and school counselors to ensure each student is placed in a supportive and well-balanced learning environment.
We value your input in describing the type of learning environment that best suits your childβs unique needs.
If you have any questions about the class placement process, contact Principal Wells at cwells@k12albemarle.org or call (434) 286-2441.

GEM (Girls Excelling in Math) Tournament
Celebrating Our Young Mathematicians: The GEM Tournament
We are thrilled to celebrate our SES students who competed in the Girls Excel at Math (GEM) Tournament last Saturday. Throughout the event, our team demonstrated exceptional perseverance and creativity, tackling complex mathematical challenges both independently and through collaborative teamwork.
In addition to the testing rounds, our students excelled in the Design-Build Challenge, where their strategic thinking and synergy led to impressive results. This success is a testament to the hard work they put in during their Monday after-school sessions. Mrs. Emery and Mrs. Bahn are incredibly proud of the growth and enthusiasm these young leaders have shown. Congratulations to our GEM team for representing SES so well!
Seeking Empty Paper Towel Rolls
Mrs. Emery is seeking empty paper towel rolls for projects in 3rd and 1st grades. If you have any you would like to donate, feel free to send them with your student or bring them to the front office.
