The 4th quarter is here and will soon be gone! This last quarter always seems to go faster than the others so please help us in encouraging your children to stay on top of their assignments, especially as they are out of the building for various activities or appointments.

This month students in grades 3-8 will take the state NSCAS test for both reading and math. Students in 5th and 8th grades will also take the science test. The state has implemented a new testing system so we are working through the kinks with them as we go. We encourage students to get a good night of sleep and eat a hearty breakfast prior to testing.

Students entering Kindergarten-6th grade for the 2022-2023 school year are eligible to attend summer school this upcoming summer. Summer school will be held June 6-10 and June 13-17 from 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. If you would like your child to attend summer school, please sign them up immediately by completing the form linked below and turning it in to the elementary office.

The Board of Education and administration are always looking forward to identify future plans for our district. While we do not anticipate any major changes in our facilities this school year, our long term plan is to have all facilities on the east side of the highway. We have researched options for additions at our elementary site including a possible junior high addition, high school addition, auxiliary gym, career and technology education facility, and bus barn; however, we do not want to raise taxes or pass a bond for any of these projects at this time. Our goal is to improve our facilities in a way that will impact students now, in the future, and save us money in the long run. It is important to note that we do have limited funds set aside for facility improvements. These funds were levied only for building improvements or growth and cannot be used elsewhere. We are continuing to research options and share those that we feel would be best for the district as plans arise.

The elementary is offering school supply kits. Instead of shopping for school supplies (scissors, glue, notebooks, etc.) in the fall, we would encourage you to take advantage of the order through the school. Kits include all items the teachers request on the school supply list and are packaged and delivered right to your child's classroom. This saves you time and gas money as you don't have to drive anywhere to purchase school supplies. A small portion of the cost for each kit goes directly back to the elementary school as well. The link to order is included below. All orders are due by April 29.

The 2022-2023 school calendar has been approved. You will notice that this new calendar has additional full inservice days. We are planning to provide additional professional development for our staff and will do so on those full inservice days. The 2022-2023 schedule is included below.

We have seen a decline in Covid-cases over the past several weeks. As a result, we will no longer be reporting our weekly numbers via our newsletter. I will continue to post a weekly update on our school website.
