Lincoln Attendance Update Lincoln Attendance Update

Overall attendance shows a strong positive trend, with most grades consistently in the low-to-mid 90s. Way to go to our Kindergarten students and families, in January they made the school-wide attendance goal of 95%!

Spell -A- Thon Spell -A- Thon

Dear Lincoln Parents,

On February 27, 2026, we will be kicking off our 2nd annual Lincoln Spell-A-Thon fundraiser! Last year, we raised $8,400. This year, our fundraiser goal is $7,000. If every student collected just $20, we would earn more than $7,200. We can be successful with your help. Let’s make this our greatest fundraiser yet! All proceeds will continue to support student-centered needs, including field trips and technology. The money raised last year bought a new laminator and paid for fieldtrips for all grade levels. Students were able to go to Tubbs Berry Farms, the Harrett Center, Nath-Soo-Pah, and Boise on field trips.

On the 27th of February, your student will receive a pledge envelope and a spelling list to study. Students are encouraged to collect pledges from friends and family; please do not allow your child to collect pledges door-to-door for safety reasons. Pledges can be made on a “per word” or a “flat rate” basis.

Your student will be taking their Spell-A-Thon spelling test on March 12th. We will send the corrected spelling test home with them to show their sponsors. All students should bring their envelopes back with their pledge money and turn them in to their teacher by April 1st .

The students who collect the most money in the school will win prizes, which will be awarded during the Awards Assembly on April 3rd. There will be one 1st place prize, two 2nd place prizes, six 3rd place prizes, and prizes for all kids who bring in $5, $10, $25, $50, $75, $100 or more, $200 or more, and $300 or more.

Thank you for your support of our school! We want all our students to study hard and do their best. If you have any questions you can contact Samantha Mauch, mauchsa@tfsd.org .

ALICE Drill ALICE Drill

ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate)

Dear Elementary Families,

To ensure schools are prepared to proactively handle the threat of an intruder or dangerous person, all TFSD principals and teachers have been trained in ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) protocol.

ALICE drills will be taking place regularly in order for students and teachers to practice being safe if a dangerous stranger enters our building. Teachers have read the book "I'm Not Scared, I'm Prepared" to students in order to help students understand what to do in case of an emergency. Students are taught to listen to their teacher for directions. In elementary school, we focus on two main responses: barricade and evacuate.

On February 19th, our school resource officer will come to Lincoln and we will conduct a barricade and evacuation drill. We want parents to be aware that this is taking place because you may see a few police cars outside of our school.

Our goal is to ensure all students are safe and know what to do if teachers tell them to help barricade or evacuate their classrooms.

This is a sensible time to talk with your children about safety and discuss how they can play an active role in keeping our campuses safe. We encourage all students to be aware of their surroundings and let a trusted adult know if they see or hear something that makes them feel unsafe. If you have any questions or concerns about the upcoming ALICE drill, please reach out.

Cafeteria Reminder Cafeteria Reminder

Thank you to our parents and students for following the recent reminder about food in the cafeteria. We are already seeing improvements, and we truly appreciate your support in helping keep our lunchroom clean, organized, and calm for all students.

We were noticing that some students are bringing large bags or cans of chips, large amounts of candy, and extra drinks into the cafeteria. These items were creating additional messes, lead to food trading that sometimes resulted in disagreements, and made it harder to maintain a focused lunchtime environment.

Thank you for reviewing and supporting the following cafeteria expectations:

  • If a student receives a school hot lunch, additional food items are not allowed.

  • If a student brings a lunch from home, please keep portion sizes reasonable (for example, family-sized bags of chips are not permitted).

  • Extra snacks should remain in backpacks until after school.

  • Food is not permitted on the playground.

  • Students returning from appointments with fast food will eat in the office to prevent spills and messes while traveling to the cafeteria.

Thank you for partnering with us to support a smooth, safe, and positive lunchtime experience for all students.
