A Message From Ms. Modiest

Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are halfway through the month of October. We have a lot of fun in store. We are looking forward to a fun fantastic Spirit Week and wrapping up the month with our Fall celebration events. This month tends to be spooktacular and a great deal of teaching and learning is still our top priority.

This week we recognized Bully Prevention Week. At Wharton, we have zero tolerance for those type of behaviors. We continue to practice being respectful, responsible, and safe. Next week we will be participating in a Spirit Week in honor of Bully Prevention. We also have a fire safety assembly.

We need your help! Please be sure to pick up your child on time at the end of the day and from any afterschool clubs. Your cooperation is appreciated. We love our community!

Just a reminder: We are tracking tardies. Every 3rd tardy will result in a detention. We want to support our families in developing appropriate practices. Being on time for school and ready to learn is important. Keep in mind our attendance is monitored by the state.

Breakfast will start daily at 7:20 and 8:20 on Wednesday late starts. We will begin school promptly at 7:50 on regular days and 8:50 on late starts. If a child is late please enter Door #4.

We appreciate your support in the following:

*Making sure your child arrives on time and attends daily.

*Completing all classwork and homework assignments.

*Promoting a love for reading.

Sincerely,

Raquel K. Modiest, Principal

Dress For the Weather Dress For the Weather

We welcome Fall! We have been fortunate to enjoy some wonderful weather. Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for school each day. The weather tends to be a little tricky so be sure to have a sweater or jacket just in case we have some quick changes in the weather.
