Tambark Creek Principal Newsletter

January 2026

Tambark CreekPrincipal NewsletterJanuary 2026

Tambark Creek Elementary principal newsletter.

From the Principal’s Desk – January 2026

Dear Tambark Creek Families,

Welcome back and Happy New Year! I hope you and your children enjoyed a joyful and restful winter break. As we return to school, we are excited to welcome students back into their classrooms and take time to review routines and expectations.

Our teachers are refreshed and ready to begin the new year with exceptional and engaging lessons. They are excited to see our students learning, growing, and thriving as we move into the next semester.

As we enter the second semester, students will begin the i-Ready Winter Diagnostic, which provides valuable information about each child’s academic progress. We carefully review all assessed areas to determine next instructional steps and ensure we are meeting the needs of every learner. Many students will also participate in the WIDA assessment. If your child is eligible, you will receive additional information from our Multilingual Coach.

This semester also marks our first time using the new Synergy platform to distribute report cards. Please stay tuned for communication from your child’s teacher with details regarding report card access and timing.

Lastly, we ask that families continue to follow our arrival and dismissal procedures to help ensure the safety of students, families, and staff. With approximately 750 students arriving and leaving campus each day, clear expectations and consistency are essential. We take great pride in the safe and efficient way our students are welcomed to and dismissed from school, and this is made possible through the collaboration of our caring staff and supportive families.

Thank you for your continued partnership. We look forward to a successful and exciting second semester.

Warmly,

Mrs. O'Connor-Weaver

Bond and Levy Information

How the School Construction Bond Proposal Was Built: A Community-Led

Process

Before placing Proposition 1, the School Construction Bond, on the February 10 ballot, Everett

Public Schools convened a Capital Bond Planning Committee made up of families, students,

community members, and staff. From February through May 2025, the group studied facility

needs, toured schools, and reviewed data before making a formal recommendation to the School

Board.

Their recommended projects include a new elementary school, additional permanent

classrooms, replacement of Lowell Elementary, improvements at Cascade and Everett High

Schools, and districtwide safety and building system upgrades. A huge thank you to this

volunteer committee for helping shape a proposal that meets our highest construction needs.

Also on the ballot is Proposition 2, the Education Levy. This is a renewal of an existing levy - not

a new tax - and continues funding for staff, programs, and daily operations not fully funded by

the state. Levy dollars represent about 15% of the district’s annual budget.

To learn more about the School Construction Bond and Education Levy, visit the district’s bond

and levy information page at https://www.everettsd.org/Bond-Levy-2026

We also have three more opportunities for our community to learn more about the bond and

levies through Let’s Connect events.

• January 20: Cascade High School cafeteria, 6-7:30 p.m.

• January 21: Everett High School cafeteria, 6-7:30 p.m.

• January 28: Heatherwood Middle School cafeteria, 6-7:30 p.m.

We hope you join us!
