Flynn Update

Flynn Families,
We are incredibly excited about the upcoming renovation and the creation of our new, state-of-the-art CTE-STEM campus. I know that change, even positive change, can be stressful. I want to assure you that your voice matters, and we are committed to making this transition as smooth and transparent as possible. As a reminder, our path forward is secured by the bond approved last year, which includes $40 million for a state-of-the-art CTE-STEM campus that will meet the needs of all of our students in an ever-changing world. Construction is set to begin next year.
Important Community Feedback Opportunity
To provide some clarifying context: Shaw Heights, as we know it, is retiring. Our Flynn community will be moving into the renovated Shaw building while the current "Flynn" building is under construction. Then, at the end of construction, we will be one unified program on one unified campus. Therefore, your direct input is critical to the planning process.
This November 12th, from 5:00–6:30 PM, at Flynn, we invite families to give us feedback on these upcoming changes. This will be an opportunity to provide feedback on various areas of this new campus and the transition years. I encourage you to attend. There will also be an opportunity for you to sign up for a time to have a one-on-one conversation with me if you’d like that opportunity.
Upcoming Events and Reminders
November 11th: No School (Veterans Day).
November 12th: Flynn Family Feedback Night, 5:00–6:30 PM (at Flynn).
November 18th: Skate City Night, 4:00–6:00 PM.
November 24th–28th: Thanksgiving Break (No School).
December 2nd at 7:30: Coffee with the Principal in the Library.
In January, we will have an open house on site at the Shaw building so that you can see your child's future classrooms, etc.
