Happy New Year!

We are officially back, and today was a great but busy day full of changes, adaptations, and pivots as we navigated the launch of our new Littles Land! As you have come to expect, our amazing Hardy team had your children supported, cared for, and ready to learn every step of the way.

Over the break, we completed the big move, and today 13 classrooms moved into a new space. Our students reminded us once again of their resilience. I was in classrooms throughout the day, and even hit 18,000 steps, my January step challenge is going to be a breeze with these classrooms open. Most importantly, it was such a joy to see students jump right back into learning like it’s second nature.

Your children bring us so much joy. I know you loved having them home over the break, and I’m equally excited to see their faces again. Thank you for sharing them with us.

The bike storage and lock area will be moved inside the school campus, near Mr. Jerry’s office, beginning Monday, January 12. We expect Room 1 demolition to begin in about two weeks, so we need to relocate the bike area before that work starts.

Please join us this Friday for Family Friday. We will start with our morning assembly in the courtyard, head to classrooms for reading time together, and then wrap up in the auditorium with a Principal’s Chat.

This week’s topic will focus on social-emotional learning (SEL), behavior expectations, and restorative practices. We are using the family survey from the beginning of the year to guide and prioritize topics for our time together.

The Great Kindness Challenge is January 26 - January 30. The theme this year is “Show us Your Kind” - shining a light on kindness. More information to follow!

In the new year, we will no longer be able to offer overflow parking on the back blacktop. With our new Littles Land classrooms open, we will have students walking to and from that area throughout the day, and we need to keep those pathways clear for student safety. Thank you for your understanding and patience as our campus continues to change during modernization.

We invite you—our students and families—to help us spread the love. If there’s a staff member who has made a positive difference in your school experience, let them know by sending them a LOVE Note. LOVE = Living Our Values Every(day). Your words of appreciation are powerful and lasting.

After School Enrichment (ASE) Session 3 begins January 26! Students can choose from a variety of programs including Chess, Cooking, Cheer, Dance, Legos, Spanish, Pickleball, Science, Soccer, and more. ASE provides a fun way for students to explore interests and build skills after school.
