Greetings Parents, Caregivers, and Central Students
XRP Robotics, Medical Assisting, College Visit
Our Business Education teacher, Kristen Arnold, took Central and West High School students who participated in XRP Robotics summer camp to a roundtable event at Minnesota State University, Mankato. Students met with Dean Kamen, the founder of DEKA Research and Development and the inventor of the Segway. DEKA Research and Development focuses on innovations related to medical devices, Organ preservation technologies, mobility enhancement, water purification, and autonomous robotics. This was a great opportunity for MAPS students to learn from industry leaders in science, technology, engineering , and mathematics (STEM).
Kristen Arnold's Career Planning class met with Rasmussen University about Medical Assisting information. This is one of many hands on informational sessions offered to CHS Students.
Kristen Arnold took a group of students to the National College Fair in Minneapolis. Students were able to learn about different programs and colleges of their interest.

Digital Tools
Mankato Area Public Schools uses a variety of digital tools to support student learning. Technology vendors and software is utilized to support work as we help all students develop the skills necessary to succeed in an ever-changing world.
We have an inventory of our curriculum, testing, and assessment tools posted on our district website at bit.ly/4835DET (or directly to our Learn Platform page bit.ly/3R9xvRB). This list is maintained and communicated annually to all families at the start of the school year.
Please reach out to your building principal for additional questions regarding the use of the specific digital tools in classrooms. Please reach out to MAPS technology department regarding data, privacy, and vendor inquiries of the specific digital tools.
Sincerely,
Angie Potts, Director of Educational Technology
