Methacton High School News
School is Almost Here!
First Day is Monday August 31, 2026!
Dear High School Families,
The start of a new school year is just around the corner, and we are so excited to welcome our students back! A new school year brings new opportunities to learn, grow, build relationships, and create memories together.
As we prepare for the first day, please know that our entire staff is ready to support your child. We understand that the beginning of a school year can bring a mix of excitement and nervousness, especially for students who are entering a new grade or a new school. We will be here to help them feel comfortable, connected, and confident.
Thank you for partnering with us and trusting us with your children each day. We are looking forward to a wonderful year filled with learning, kindness, school spirit, and success. Let's make it a great one!
Please Check Your Child's Schedule!
Things Change
Please remind your child to check Power School for their most updated schedule. We've had last minute changes and we want to make sure your child has the most up-to-date schedule.
Grades 9 - 11 Picture Day is 9/2!
Important Attendance Procedures
Use the Online Reporting System
Parents and guardians must report absences using one of two approved methods.
Use the attendance reporting feature in the PowerSchool Parent Portal. This online tool notifies the school and fulfills the written note requirement.
You may also call your child’s school to report the absence. Phone reports require a written parent or guardian note to be submitted within three days of the absence.
If leaving a message, please provide:
Your child’s full name
Your name
The reason for the absence
Your contact number
Please know that emails will not be accepted for attendance reporting.
BE RESPECTFULL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE!
Our Core Values
Throughout the year, we will encourage students to stay focused on making choices that are respectful, responsible, and safe. All behaviors/misbehaviors can fall within one or more of these values. As students continue to grow into young adults, the understanding of how their choices may impact others is important.
Being On Time Matters
As we emphasize three core school values (respect, responsibility, and safety), we will be encouraging students to be on time to school and class. Students will receive an after-school detention after being late three times (unexcused).
Pull All the Way Up When Dropping Students Off
Student Drop Off Is In The East Wing!
If you arrive before 7:15, please do not wait in line. Drop your child off and we will open the doors at 7:15 am. Please follow the white arrows and pull all the way up to the LGI entrance which is right by the thick white line in the above picture. Students will be allowed to exit the car anywhere along the sidewalk the entire length of the car line. Please have your child sit on the right side of the car. During morning drop off between 7:15 and 7:35 cars will NOT be permitted to pass on the left. Students who arrive after 7:35 will be sent to the office for a late pass. Please be respectful to the teachers volunteers who are outside ensuring the safety of your children.
Student pick up is in the same location. Students are dismissed at 2:20. If you arrive early, please pull all the way up so we can fit as many cars as possible.
