Dear Families,
Welcome back from vacation. We’re heading into the final stretch which is always very full. Today we are welcoming Felix Vazquez into the K/1 classroom this week.
Lunch volunteers - We need volunteers for all days next week. If you can volunteer for one of these days, please email me cjohnston@acsdvt.org or sign up directly on the calendar.
VTCAP state testing - We are done! Heavy lift for sure by the students. They took it on so earnestly and thoughtfully.
New staff member: Audra Ouellette is re-joining WES staff today. She will be working primarily in the K/1 classroom as a paraprofessional. Audra has served the school over the years in many ways as a parent, a volunteer, a paraprofessional and a bus driver. (I’m probably missing something.) We’re really happy to welcome her back.
Tag Sale news: The WES Tag Sale will be Saturday, May 3, from 9 am - 2 pm.
The Tag Sale is a major fundraiser for FOWE, bringing in income comparable to our annual appeal. There are many ways to help. Please peruse our Volunteer Signup Sheet for a job that suits your availability and enthusiasm for thrift.
WES Families can also make donations of high-quality, gently-used items during morning drop off this week:
Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday (4/28-4/30) from 7:45-8:15
Additional donation hours for the public (and WES families, of course!)
Monday 4/28 - 3-5 pm
Tuesday 4/29 - 3-5 pm
This is our last big "lift" of the school year. We hope you can help by offering your time and/or donating high-quality items that need a new home. Thank you! - Erin Davis
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you.
Best, Christina

We’re raising pay for substitutes! Apply now!
Substitute teachers are crucial for our students, staff, staff, and schools! We are increasing our daily substitute teaching rate to $160/day for unlicensed subs and $200/day for licensed subs. This change begins on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 when students return from winter break. This flat rate replaces our sliding rate of pay for subs depending on the number of days worked.
To apply, you can email your interest to HR@acsdvt.org with "Substitute Position" in the subject line. You can also visit this listing on school spring.
Community Feedback needed!
Parents, Caregivers, Students, Staff & Community, we want to hear from you! In the Spring of 2024, ACSD began a two year process toward joint accreditation by NEASC and IB (read more here). We are currently in the self-study and evidence gathering phase and we want to hear from you! Please take 10 minutes to fill out this NEASC Learning Community Survey to help inform how we are doing in key areas and where we need to focus and improve in the future.
Please choose the survey links that best fits your role and school affiliation.
