🌱 Growing Together: The First Six Weeks of Montessori

In Montessori, the first six weeks of school are known as the Normalization Period. This is when classroom communities settle into routines, build relationships, and establish a peaceful learning environment with as few outside interruptions as possible.

You can read more about this period here: Normalization in Montessori: What It Is and Why It Matters.

Starting on October 21, students and teachers will be ready to welcome volunteers into classrooms. Now is the perfect time to:

  • Complete and sign your Background Check form, and provide a copy of your driver’s license (email both pieces to bethany.dilla@ridgeline.org)

  • Read and sign the Volunteer Code of Conduct

That way, you’ll be ready to jump in when the time comes!

🚜 Turf-mageddon: the Leveling - Saturday, November 7

Volunteer Help Needed to Level the Lower Elementary Playground! 🌱

⏰ Start: 9:00 a.m. | Duration: 4–5 hours, or until the job is done!

This is a super impactful project that will make our lower elementary playground safer and more enjoyable! We’ll move 15 cubic yards of soil (about 130–150 wheelbarrow loads!) to fill uneven areas, then rake, level, overseed, and mulch to help the turf grow back.

💪 We need 8–12+ committed volunteers ready to shovel and haul until the job is done. We can’t order the soil until we know we have enough help to get this project done in a single work party!

🛠️ Please bring your own shovels and wheelbarrows! We only have two wheelbarrows, so we need volunteers to bring their own equipment (this will make a HUGE difference!).

📝 If you are ready to stand with us for the glory of our shared level turf please sign up in TrackItForward by Friday, October 30.

Note: this one is an all-hands on deck, adults-only volunteer work party.

Thank you for helping us create a safe and level inviting place for Ridgeline students to play at recess.

May the rakes be mighty, the wheelbarrows be full, and the leveling of the turf be glorious! Long live Turf-mageddon! 🌿
