A Message from Mr. Demers A Message from Mr. Demers

Dear DRRHS Families,

What a beautiful week it has been here on 2700 Regional Road. With the warmer weather finally settling in and signs of spring beginning to bloom across campus, there is a renewed energy throughout DRRHS. It is hard to believe that April break is already upon us next week. Before we head into a well-earned week of rest, our Falcons continue to make us proud in so many ways. Here are a few highlights from the week:

  • On Thursday, we were proud to recognize Kylie Smith, a senior in our Marketing & Entrepreneurship CTE Program, as Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School’s 2026 MAVA Outstanding Senior Award recipient. Kylie has been an exceptional leader and role model throughout her time at DRRHS, maintaining a 3.7 GPA in honors-level courses while serving as a three-year DECA member and two-year Chapter President. She has advanced to DECA States and Internationals all three years, earning multiple top finishes and helping lead our chapter to national-level competition. Congratulations, Kylie, on this well-deserved honor.
  • On Thursday, we also held our annual SCC Academic All-Star Luncheon, where the top five students from each South Coast Conference high school were honored. We are proud to recognize DRRHS’s top five students, listed in alphabetical order: Kaitlyn Arguin, Laura Cruz, Maryeileen Kelleher, Julia Mello, and Christian Zankul. Congratulations to these outstanding scholars on this tremendous achievement.
  • The Dighton-Rehoboth girls tennis team is off to an incredible 4-0 start. This week, the Falcons earned hard-fought 3-2 victories over Fairhaven and Somerset-Berkley, showcasing both skill and resilience. There were some nailbiter finishes with the second doubles pairing of Laura Cruz and Bella Pettine coming in clutch to secure the win for the team. Additionally, Mia Saviolakis, Cailee Leonard and Addie Hoyle have dominated at singles while Aubrey Harris, Camilla Bredemeier and Catherine Bredemeier have shown a strong start at first doubles as they continue to build chemistry and find their rhythm. Great job, Falcons!

As we head into April break, all of us at DRRHS wish our students, families, and staff a restful and well-deserved week off. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for a strong finish to the fourth quarter.

With Falcon Pride,
Dustin Demers Principal DRRHS

District Wide Branding Survey District Wide Branding Survey

Earlier this month, a group of DR community members came together to discuss the possibility of expanding our green and gold Falcon branding across the district. There was strong support to continue exploring the idea, with potential benefits including a more unified district identity and the ability to celebrate Falcon pride at every grade level. At the same time, the group emphasized the importance of honoring each school’s unique identity and traditions. As we continue this conversation, community feedback will play a vital role, please share your thoughts in this survey

Riley Kazanjian participated in the annual student government day on Friday, April 10th. In the morning's joint session assembled in the House chambers she was able to hear testimony from students around the state about a proposed bill on AI policy in schools. In addition, Governor Maura Healey addressed the students in attendance on the value of civic participation. She also met up with Rep. Justin Thurber who bestowed a citation for her participation. In the afternoon session, she served in the role as a Supreme Court Justice, as one of only ten schools selected for this opportunity. As such, she attended a Q&A with Associate Justice Frank Gaziano who described the day to day operations of the MA Supreme Judicial Court. During lunch, students mingled with current clerks of the court and had an opportunity to discuss how they became interested in the field of law. To finish the day all the students took part in a historical tour of the Superior Court House. Truly a great way to engage with civics!

Help Shape the Future of Career & Technical Education at DRRHS! Help Shape the Future of Career & Technical Education at DRRHS!

Dear Dighton Rehoboth Families,

Exciting things are happening at Dighton Rehoboth Regional High School! Our Career & Technical Education (CTE) department is launching three brand-new programs: Medical Assisting, Criminal Justice, and Culinary Arts, and we’re looking for enthusiastic parents and students to help us bring these programs to life.

We are currently seeking volunteers to serve on our Program Advisory Committees (PACs). PAC members play an important role in helping guide and strengthen our programs. Your insights and experiences can help us design meaningful learning opportunities that prepare students for real-world careers.

As a PAC member, you will help:

  • Shape and strengthen program curriculum

  • Inspire students as they explore their career pathways

  • Share industry knowledge and perspectives

  • Help ignite curiosity and a passion for lifelong learning in our students

The commitment is minimal but impactful:

  • Approximately 3–4 virtual meetings

  • One in-person walkthrough once the program spaces are completed

If you have experience in healthcare, law enforcement/criminal justice, culinary arts, or related industries, or simply have a passion for helping students succeed, we would love to have you involved.

This is a wonderful opportunity to help shape the future of Dighton Rehoboth Regional High School and support the next generation of skilled professionals.

If you are interested in joining a Program Advisory Committee, please sign up using the Parent and Student Interest Form found below.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and our school community.

Warm regards,
Michael Strojny

Phone/Earbud/Headphone Usage DRRHS Phone/Earbud/Headphone Usage DRRHS

Please note that the district wide cell phone/electronic device policy will be strictly enforced this year. Please review the policy:

District Electronic Device Policy

The term “electronic devices,” includes but is not limited to cell phones, iPads/tablets, laptops/computers (other than those issued by the District), electronic/smart devices, and headphones/airpods. The expectation is that these personal devices remain off and away during the school day. Staff may require students to store phones in a centralized location. The only exception is at the high school, where students are permitted to use their phones during transition time in the hallway between classes and during lunch. High school students are not allowed to use their phones during class time, or when out of the classroom during class time (i.e., bathroom breaks). Students remain solely responsible for any loss or damage to any electronic devices used or brought onto school property. Use of electronic devices at school are subject to the District’s Acceptable Use Policy and any applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to M.G.L. c. 272, sec. 99, which is sometimes known as the Massachusetts Wiretapping Law.

  2. Office Detention

  3. Office Detention/Confiscation of Phone for Day

Attendance Attendance

A reminder that a student will be assigned Saturday School if they accrue 5 attendance points in a quarter.

  • An unexcused absence (one not accompanied by a valid medical note) equals one attendance point.
  • An unexcused tardy/dismissal equals an attendance half point.

A student's exemplary academic standing or disciplinary record have no bearing on the assignment of a Saturday School in the case of five or more attendance points being accrued over the course of one quarter of the school year.

First period begins at 7:17AM. Any student not in their classroom at 7:17 or later will be considered tardy for that day.

Chromebooks Chromebooks

All Chromebooks should be charged and ready for each school day. Outside devices are not permitted, only school issued Chromebooks can be used at DRRHS during the school day.

The school has a limited number of loaner chromebooks and priority is to those students whose chromebooks are being fixed. Please remember that students should be bringing in fully charged chromebooks to school every day with charging cords.

Student Parking Student Parking

If a Senior or Junior is planning on parking at school, they can purchase a sticker in the office. The cost to park at school is $60 for the year. At the start of Semester 2, parking will be $30 for the balance of the year. Parking forms are available in the office. Please be aware that students will not be able to go out to their cars during the school day. They must remember to have everything with them when they enter the building in the morning.

Please make sure you do not cut through the Faculty Parking Lot before or after school. The Faculty Parking Lot should not be used as a shortcut for safety reasons. Thank you!

CTE Early Childhood Education

Little Falcons Preschool has openings for next year. Our program features developmentally appropriate kindergarten readiness curriculum. Our EEC high school students help teach the class while earning their Certification giving our program a 2 to 1 ratio. We offer 2 sessions, AM and PM Monday through Friday following the school calendar. Call Tracy DIshon (508) 252-5025 extension 5604 for more information.

Little Falcons Preschool

One of our staff members son is serving overseas and she reached out to collaborate with our Little Falcons Pre-K students. Our EEC students helped them create cards for the troops, they are so proud to be part of this special project. The children made handprint flags and heartfelt thank-you cards in honor of her son and all those who proudly serve in the military. It was a meaningful way for our class to show appreciation and kindness to those who serve our country.
