Principal's Message
Happy February, Falcon Community,
This week we focused on Creating Connections through our Falcon Flocks Day, where students came together in multi-grade groups to build relationships, strengthen belonging, and engage in community building activities. It was energizing to see students connect across grades and support one another in meaningful and fun ways.
Strong schools are built on strong partnerships. Families are invited to share their voice at an upcoming in person strategic planning engagement hosted by the Central Okanagan Board of Education. This session will help shape the future direction of education in our district, with family perspectives playing a key role. Please register in advance using this link:

Student Leadership and Events at DRK
Morning of Flock Nests & Hollywood Red Carpet Dance
We had so much fun on Monday! Both of these events were designed to help students build connections and create positive memories, an important part of the school experience. THe Falcon Flock Assemblies brought students together in school wide colour teams to build belonging across grades, while our Hollywood Red Carpet Dance was a fun opportunity to celebrate together. The dance battles were a hit, as were our polaroid stations!
Strategic Plan Public Engagement Invitation
Dear parents/guardians, students, staff, partner groups, and community members,
On behalf of the Central Okanagan Board of Education, I invite you to join us for an in-person Strategic Plan public engagement session. Your perspective matters: our schools exist to serve our community, and this engagement will help shape the future of education in Central Okanagan Public Schools.
This session is designed so that every voice is heard through a structured interview process that brings forward ideas, experiences, and priorities from across our community.
As a teaser, here are the four questions we will explore together:
- When you think about the world students are entering today, what do you believe students need most from their experiences in our schools to be successful?
- When you think about the future, what ideas do you have that would improve student learning for all students?
- What would help families feel more meaningfully involved in supporting student learning?
- What is one change that would make schools healthier and more supportive places for students, staff, and families?
Your input will be captured, themed, and used to revise and update our Strategic Plan so you will be able to see how your advice helped shape the direction of the District.
