A Message From Chuck Walsh on National Say Something Week
March 6, 2024
Dear Districts 67 and District 115 Parents, Guardians, Students, and Staff,
This week is National Say Something Week, and I’d like to share some important information.
This initiative is all about fostering a culture of safety and encouraging everyone to be proactive in reporting anything that could impact the well-being of our students, staff, and visitors. Sometimes, spotting warning signs isn't easy, but with your help, we can create a safer environment for everyone.
It all comes down to three things:
– Recognizing the Signs
– Acting Immediately, Taking It Seriously
– Saying Something
If you come across anything that raises concern, please speak up. Report it until you're confident that it's being addressed
Here's how you can report concerns:
Talk to a family member, teacher, dean, or other trusted adult.
Use our Reporting Tools for each district:
District 115
District 67
Visit Safe2Help Illinois website for 24/7 reporting via calls, texts, web, email, or download the app. Safe2Help Illinois is designed to maintain confidentiality, aiming to encourage students to “Seek Help Before Harm” not to impose disciplinary measures
In an Emergency, Call 911. Local first responders are ready to help.
Your vigilance plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of our school community. Thank you for your commitment to the safety and well-being of our school community.
Best regards,
Chuck Walsh
Director of Safety and Security

Participation Key for Illinois State Report Card - Spring IAR and ISA Testing
March and April Dates
District 67 students in grades 5 and 8 will take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) March 19-21. Students in grades 3-8 will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) April 8-18. The Illinois Science Assessment (ISA) and the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR) are the state assessment and accountability measures for Illinois students enrolled in a public school district. ISA and IAR assess the Illinois Learning Standards incorporated in the Common Core. The IAR is administered in English Language Arts (ELA) and mathematics.
IAR and ISA participation rates are used by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) when calculating ELA, math, and science proficiency scores for the Annual State Report Card. We must have 95 percent participation in all areas to receive the maximum points possible. Proficiency scores are used to calculate an overall Summative Designation for each school. Illinois has 4 summative designations: Exemplary, Commendable, Targeted, and Comprehensive. ISBE includes school summative designations annually in the Illinois Report Card. A participation rate lower than 95 percent negatively impacts the Summative Designation for each school. Schools that have less than 95 percent participation are ineligible to receive an Exemplary designation.
