Back-to-School Reminders
First Day(s) of School
We look forwarding to welcoming students to campus next week!!
The first day for Juniors and Seniors is Thursday, August 6th.
The first day for Freshmen and Sophomores is Friday, August 7th.
Students will enter at the Main Entrance or Bus Entrance only beginning at 7:25 and will report to the small gym, cafeteria, or band room (if they are rehearsing). At 8:10, students will go to the theater for the First Day Assembly. School will dismiss at 3:15 on both Thursday and Friday. See below for important reminders about schoolwide expectations pertaining to technology, dress code, Open Gate, and more.
FOCUS Act
“No student may possess a wireless communication device in any public elementary or secondary school building or on the grounds thereof during the instructional day unless the wireless communication device is turned off and stored off their person in a locker, car, or similar storage location.”
All personal technology must remain in one of two places during the instructional day (8:10 am - 3:15pm):
- Left in your personal vehicle
- Turned off and in your locker
This includes, but is not limited to: Cell phones, smart watches, tablets, personal laptops, air pods, headphones, gaming devices, or any other portable electronic device that has the capability of exchanging voice, messaging, or other data communication with another electronic device.
TCS & HTHS are not responsible for lost or stolen personal property. Students are personally and solely responsible for devices brought into the building.
Dress Code
A few standout reminders...
Clothing must cover one's midriff in the front, side, and back. Backless and off-the-shoulder tops are not permitted.
Shorts and skirts must be fist length.
Clothing with depictions of drugs, alcohol, and foul language are not permitted.
Water Bottles
All water bottles must be clear or translucent. Water bottles that do not meet this requirement will be collected at Open Gate and can be picked up in the Main Office at the end of the day.
Backpacks/Large Totes
Car Line Reminders
Please watch this video for what to expect in car line. Remember, safety is always our #1 priority!
Stock Up on School Supplies
Your teachers will give more specific supply lists on the first day of school, but it's a good idea to stock up on binders, loose leaf paper, notebooks, pens, pencils, and highlighters. Remember that 3-inch binders set the Open Gate alarm off.
Student Schedules
Students schedules will go live in PowerSchool on July 30th at 4pm.
If a schedule change is needed, please use the Google Form below rather than calling or emailing. This will allow our counselors to address each concern more efficiently. Please see the Google Form for acceptable schedule change requests. All schedule change requests must be submitted by August 17th. There will be no schedule changes after this date.
My School Bucks
If you have not done so already, please go to https://www.myschoolbucks.com/ and set up a MySchoolBucks account. Fall sports invoices were processed on July 23rd. Course fee and AP exam fee invoices will be processed on August 24th.
Administrator/Counselor Contacts
Please see the contact information above if you need to speak to your student's administrator or counselor. We are looking forward to welcoming Emily Hoffman as our Freshmen counselor later in the semester. Until she begins, our current counselors will divide the Freshmen class alphabetically:

Summer Reading for the 2026-2027 School Year
Reading over the summer is a great way to break from technology, build one's vocabulary, and gain valuable practice in sustained critical thinking and attention. Our teachers and librarians have curated summer reading options for each grade level and course, and we are certain there is something for everyone! Summer reading is a requirement for all courses and grade levels. Students will be tested on their summer reading book in the first week of school. See below for more information. Happy reading!
