Message From Principal | IB Head of School, Mrs. Fox

September 11,2026Message From Principal | IB Head of School, Mrs.Fox
Greetings Franklin Academy families and staff,

We had a busy week wrapping up Open House events, held our first General PTO Meeting of the year, administered the majority of our FAST testing; we have three more testing days next week and we're getting ready to kick off our BOOK FAIR! 🌟 πŸ“–πŸ“šπŸŒŸ

Also celebrated our August CARING students who received their certificate, spirit stick and sweet treat for exemplifying CARING and SWEETNESS last month! Check out our IB Corner below to review this month's learner profile attribute: Balanced.

Our Progress Learning ARTIST winners also had an 'Out of This World' breakfast to present them with their digital alien that won! These new aliens are now LIVE on the Progress Learning platform!

Uniform reminder: BELTS are for all students in grades 2 and up that are wearing shorts or pants. Update-thank you! We've noticed the increase in the belts for our elementary students as well!

We hare our first Early Release day coming up on 9/16/26. If you'd like for your child to dress down, the DRESS DOWN PASS flyer is below. It's a one time payment of $15 which includes all Early Release Days for the school year.

Receiving unwanted random emails/texts on your phone or your child's phone that SEEM they are from someone at school? Unfortunately, there are random apps others can download, one specifically we know of, peek secret compliment, that will use information from the phone to make it seem that a message is being sent from school or someone from school. Please know that we do not track student cell phone numbers.

🌟We have a celebration coming up..Happy Birthday to our PTO Treasurer: Ms. N. Phillip!

Wishing you a blessed year ahead! πŸŽ‚

On September 11, our country will mark 25 years since the attacks of 2001.

For many Americans, the flag became a shared symbol of mourning, unity, and resolve in the days that followed. This anniversary is a time to remember the 2,977 lives lost, honor the responders and recovery workers, and recognize the families and survivors who still carry that day with them.

This is is one of our longest events (but truly the most heart-warming event) and it would not be a success without the assistance of our volunteers! Our Book Fair will be open daily for TWO weeks. We need volunteers to assist the students with locating books, organizing, refilling the books on the shelves and help with checking out. If you are in need of service hours - this is a great opportunity!

Being Balanced means understanding the importance of taking care of ourselves while making time for learning, responsibilities, relationships, and fun. A balanced learner knows that success is not just about working hardβ€”it is also about finding time to rest, reflect, stay healthy, and enjoy the things that make us happy.

This month, I encourage you to look for students who demonstrate balance in their everyday choices. Maybe they know when to take a break, manage their time responsibly, make healthy choices, or balance their schoolwork with being a good friend and classmate. These small moments are wonderful examples of what it means to be a Balanced IB Learner!

UNIFORM POLICY REMINDERS UNIFORM POLICY REMINDERS

Dress code guidelines specify appropriate school attire for normal school days. Franklin Academy reserves the right to interpret these guidelines and/or make changes during the school year. Students are expected to comply with these guidelines. If a student arrives without the proper uniform, they may be sent to the front office and will remain there until a parent/guardian brings the correct uniform.

Improperly fitted uniforms are considered a violation of the dress code, and students may not be allowed to attend class until appropriate clothing is provided. Offensive, immodest, or inappropriate attire, as deemed by the faculty, is not permitted. Torn or tattered clothing is also prohibited. All clothing should be labeled with the student's name. Parents/guardians of Kindergarten and first grade students are encouraged to leave an extra set of clothes in a labeled Ziploc bag in their child’s backpack in case of emergencies.
