A Message From Principal Abeal

Dear West Belmar Families,

We are excited to kick off Read Across America Week from March 2nd - March 6th! This week will be filled with fun, creativity, and a celebration of one of America’s greatest children’s authors, Dr. Seuss. Each day has a special theme, and we can’t wait to see the students join in the fun!

Here are the theme days for the week:

  • Monday, March 2rd – Crazy Hair Day: Let your hair go wild to start the week off with a bang!
  • Tuesday, March 3rd – The Cat in the Hat Hat Day: Wear your favorite hat to honor this classic Dr. Seuss character.
  • Wednesday, March 4th – Wacky Wednesday – Mismatch Day: Wear mismatched clothes for a wacky and fun look!
  • Thursday, March 5th – Fox in Socks Day – Crazy Socks Day: Show off your most fun and funky socks!
  • Friday, March 6th – Pajama Day – The Sleep Book: Students can wear their pajamas to school, but please remember to choose comfortable, school-appropriate pajamas that will allow students to move safely throughout the building.

We’re looking forward to a week of celebration, creativity, and of course, reading!

In addition, we want to remind you that the PTA’s Annual Gift Auction will take place on Friday, March 20th at The Shore Club. It’s always a fun event and a great way to support our school community. We hope to see you there!

Thank you for supporting Read Across America Week and Dr. Seuss's timeless impact on children’s literature.

Most sincerely,

Anthony

Attendance Matters at the WB!

Why Every Day Matters

Good attendance lays the foundation for a child’s academic success. When students attend school regularly, they keep up with class lessons, build confidence, and develop strong relationships with teachers and peers. Even just two absences per month (about 10% of the school year) can create gaps in learning and make it harder to catch up. We encourage families to make every effort to have students present and on time, because every day really does add up. We need our "Bear Cubs in the Cave"!
