St Bernadette's Primary School
NEWSLETTER |WEEK 5 TERM 2 2026
Over the past few days, I have had the opportunity to serve on a panel for another school's cyclical review. While it is always difficult being away from St Bernadette’s, these types of professional experiences provide valuable insights into the many different ways schools support their students and communities.
Returning to St Bernadette’s has left me feeling incredibly proud of our staff, students and families, and of all that we continue to achieve together. Our focus remains on continual improvement - celebrating incremental growth in learning, relationships and wellbeing, while always striving for excellence in everything we do. It is this shared commitment to growth and improvement that makes our school such a special place to learn and belong.
Many thanks to all of you for your ongoing support, encouragement and partnership. The positive relationships between our school and families make an enormous difference to the experiences and opportunities we provide for our students. Together, we continue to create a community where every child is known, valued and supported to thrive.
We hope Wellness Week prompted you to pause and reflect on your own wellbeing journey. Whether it meant making a small change to your eating habits, finding time for some exercise, switching off screens to connect with your children in a fun way, or simply creating space to recharge, it is often the small, consistent choices that have the greatest impact on overall health and happiness - now and well into the future!
As our Year 4 students continue their preparation for the Sacrament of the Eucharist, we invite our school community to keep them and their families in their prayers. May they experience God's love, guidance and grace throughout this important stage of their faith journey.
Our Interschool Basketball Carnival is being held on Thursday 28 May and we are looking for two coaches, one for the girls team and one for the boy's team. We also require assistance to coach teams for the Lightning Carnival on the 18 June for Volleyball (possibly 4 coaches) and AFL (3 coaches). Please help if you can!
There have been a few parents who have taken to parking on the grass strip opposite the kiss & drop. We ask that you please do not do this and rather use the car park or Kiss & Drop facilities. Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.
A reminder that this coming Friday the 29th May, is a Pupil Free Day, providing staff with dedicated time for professional learning and planning. This will be followed by the WA Day public holiday on Monday 1st June.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!

Uniform expectations
Our school uniform is an important part of our school identity and helps promote a sense of pride, belonging and equality among students. We ask that all students attend school each day wearing the correct school uniform.
Students are expected to:
- Wear the approved school uniform, including the correct school shirt, shorts/skirt and school hat.
- Wear appropriate school shoes and school socks/white quarter crew socks.
- Wear Faction polos and sports shorts on sports days.
- Ensure uniforms are clean, neat and in good condition.
- Follow school expectations regarding hairstyles, jewellery and accessories
Wearing the correct uniform helps students represent our school positively and supports a focused learning environment. We appreciate families working with us to ensure students come to school dressed appropriately each day.
If you require support with uniforms or have any questions, please contact the school office.
Kiss & Drop Signs - final call!
We are in the process of making name signs to be displayed on car dashboards in the hope this will streamline the kiss & drop process and speed the pick up line up. If you use the kiss & Drop please complete the form below:

In the Catholic tradition, our parish and school are closely connected.
The parish, led by Father Giovanni, provides spiritual leadership and is responsible for ensuring we nurture students’ faith alongside academic learning. The school supports the parish by helping children grow in Catholic values, preparing them for sacraments, and encouraging family participation in parish life.
It’s essentially a partnership — the parish is the faith community, and the school is one of its key ministries. For more information about our Parish, please click here:
