Good Evening Tigers,

This is Noel Keener, the proud principal of Ragsdale High School. Thank you for a GREAT first week of the 2025-2026 school year! We were so excited to welcome our students back! We will be back at it on Tuesday, September 1st after our 3-day Labor Day weekend.

Starting this week, all students will report straight to first block. The tardy bell rings at 9:15. Make sure you've grabbed your free breakfast on your way to class. School ends at 4:15pm. Please remember that our attendance window closes at 4:00pm. You must present a valid picture ID to check your child out of school.

Chromebooks were given out this week. If your child did not return their charger last year, then they did not receive one this year. You can pay $16 (schoolcashonline.com) or purchase at a store or website of your choosing.

Please remember we have schoolwide rules to include dress code, getting to class on time, and refraining from cell phone use during classroom instruction. A complete list has been shared with your student and was shared in teacher syllabi with you. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Families don't forget- Powerschool has gone away and Infinite Campus is now the place to find your students grades and attendance. Please go to gcsnc.com/campusparent for more details.

Will you be parking on campus this year? You have to have your parking pass! The form is online. You can purchase your pass before or after school. See the link on our website and scroll down for more details. We will give through Sept 8 to purchase the $50 pass!

Lady Tigers- we will be having our FLAG FOOTBALL interest meeting after school THURSDAY in the Media Center!

Appalachian State University’s Office of Admissions is pleased to invite the senior class students to an Application Workshop at Grimsley High School on Saturday, September 6, from 1:00–5:30 p.m. All local seniors are invited to attend.

During this event, students will gain valuable tips and tricks for completing their college applications, explore the ins and outs of the Common Application, and learn effective strategies for navigating the admissions process. The workshop will also feature a mock application review, a panel discussion with admissions professionals, and a mini college fair.

In addition to Appalachian State, representatives from UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, Virginia Commonwealth University, and Wake Forest will be in attendance. This session is designed to help prepare the senior class of 2026 for a successful college application season. Students can register by using [this registration link]. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.

Want to learn more about the Career and College Promise Program? GTCC and GCS invite high school students and their parents to attend an information session about the program. This dual enrollment program offers high schoolers the opportunity to earn college credits while completing their high school education. Multiple sessions will take place in the month of September, including a virtual option. Scan the QR codes to learn more.

Join Student Council! Everyone is welcome! Come be a part of making Ragsdale Student Life everything it can be! First Meeting Monday, September 8 at 8am in the Media Center. Join our GroupMe to get information about upcoming meetings and events and to be able to vote on things like Spirit Week Themes.

Seniors are required to be up to date on vaccinations. See the information on the GCS website HERE so that your child does not miss a day of school!
