2024 Wylie ISD Climate Survey
Every year, we invite families to participate in a climate survey. This survey covers topics such as teacher effectiveness, campus leadership, community and involvement, school pride and recognition, and more.
We want to provide our students with the best educational experience possible, and your feedback will help us see where weโre thriving and identify areas for growth.
Please take a moment to fill out a survey for each campus your family attends. For example, if your children attend Akin Elementary and Wylie East High School, you should complete a survey for each school. The climate survey will close Wednesday, April 3, so take a moment and fill it out today!
Upcoming Total Solar Eclipse
The Total Solar Eclipse is April 8. We can't wait to share this rare experience with our students! All science classes will study the eclipse in class and students will have the opportunity to witness the eclipse firsthand. Thanks to the generosity of the Perot Museum, each student will receive a pair of eclipse glasses for safe viewing.
Given the anticipated influx of visitors to our area of DFW for the eclipse, we want to assure you that we are in regular communication with our public safety partners about the day. For a detailed overview of what your student can expect at school during this event, please refer to the linked flyers below. Next week, look for an informational email from Wylie ISD.

Cox Teacherโs Letter to Author Results in Surprise Gift
Because of Winn Dixie and because of a special dog named Grizzly Bear, Cox Elementary teacher Alison Rogers had an unforgettable moment or two, or three with her fourth-grade class.
At the beginning of every school year, she reads the book Because of Winn Dixie by Kate DiCamillo to her class. This authorโs works have created many memorable moments in her classroom over the years.
However, this year was a bit different. Found out how and why by reading the full story on our website.
