GMS Information and Announcements
From the Principal's Desk
GMS Family,
As we reach the midpoint of this grading period, it’s a great time to reflect on our progress and set goals for the weeks ahead. The interim marks an opportunity to regroup, refocus, and push forward as we work together toward success. With just a few weeks left before winter break, let’s finish strong by staying motivated, supporting one another, and making the most of each day. Together, we can make this season a time of growth, achievement, and celebration!
Sincerely,
GMS Admin Team

Message From Dr. Adams
Hello Greene Devils!
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share with you that I will be taking a medical leave of absence beginning Wednesday, November 20, as I undergo a surgery on my neck. This procedure is necessary to address some ongoing health concerns and requires a lengthy recovery. While I will miss being at school daily with our school family, I’m grateful for the opportunity to take the time to heal and recover fully.
As always, our school will be in the excellent hands of our assistant principals, Mr. McCall and Mrs. Philbeck along with support from our district administration. I have every confidence in our GMS team to keep everything running smoothly to finish this semester strong.
I plan to return in January for the start of the new semester and am looking forward to being back with all of you in the new year. Thank you for your understanding, support, and kindness during this time.
I am very proud of our students and staff this year for your hard work and resilience through several unprecedented challenges. I wish each of you the very best for the remainder of the semester and during the upcoming holiday season! Please do not hesitate to reach out to our office if you have any questions or need assistance.
With much love,
Dr. Adams

Understanding Your Student's TCAP Report Information
Thank you to the families that were able to attend our session about Understanding Your Student's TCAP Report last week. If you weren't able to attend, you can access the information shared during the event in the attachment below. Reach out to Dr. Adams, Mr. McCall, or Mrs. Philbeck if you have any questions.
Message from Mrs. V
In September, Hurricane Helene devastated East TN and severely impacted the community. Hampton High School was forced to relocate as the flooding damaged the school's campus — both the grounds and the building. HHS is now displaced and conducting classes at Keenburg Elementary School. This is a challenge for both teachers & students. Teachers are doing their best to support students, many of whom have also faced significant losses, but they need our help to restore classroom resources and create a stable learning environment. Greeneville Middle School is collecting donations to help teachers at Hampton High School with supplies, materials, and other essentials to support our students' educational journey in these challenging times. Every bit helps—please consider contributing to help their school community rebuild and move forward stronger than ever

Turkey Trot Time!
The GCSEF 10th Annual Turkey Trot 5K is set for Thanksgiving morning at 8am at GHS. We need your help sharing information about the event and encouraging participation! I have attached a flyer, registration form, and course map for the event. I have also included links to online registration, the Facebook event page, and a recent tweet.
Early registration ends on 11.12.24 and you must be registered by then to be guaranteed a race day shirt. The school with the highest percentage of participants will receive a $500 cash prize. If you have families that would like to volunteer for the event rather than run/walk, we would love to have them, and your school will receive participation credit for volunteers as well.
If you would like me to deliver printed flyers, forms, or yard signs to your school, please let me know. I will be happy to do so!
We are truly appreciative of anything you can do to help encourage participation.
