Can you believe it’s October already? This month we’re spotlighting our new character word, Self-Direct: noticing what needs doing and taking the next right step, whether that’s zipping a coat, helping a friend, or diving into a new challenge. And yes, the buzz you hear is real! Our annual Fall Festival is around the corner! Expect games, treats, and community magic. Watch for details and volunteer sign-ups coming home soon. Let’s make October joyful, intentional, and very Washington.

On a final note, thank you, Wildcats! Because of your incredible generosity, we EXCEEDED our Fun Run goal of $20,000. Plans are already underway to bring our dream to life: a pump track installation just outside the gym for students to ride, learn, and play. Stay tuned for design updates, timelines, and ways to get involved as we turn this big idea into a daily dose of fun and fitness.

Since this year's Fall Parties fall on the 31st, we are allowing students to wear their costumes to school if they choose. This is NOT a requirement, just an option for those who opt to do so. Of course, there are a few guidelines that we would like for you to consider:

  • No accessories like shields, weapons, claws, or the like
  • No face coverings such as masks. Face paint is acceptable
  • No blood or gore
  • Hats, headbands, and other toppers are ok, but teachers may ask them to remove them during class time if they distract from instruction
