SHINE ON!
Week of February 2, 2026
Open Registration, Crumbl Cookie Fundraiser, Mardi Gras Pancake dinner at LUMC
Hello Sunbeam Families! We miss you!! Thank you for joining me on Facebook for our read alouds and January Special Chapel! We are praying for warmer temps and ice melts!!
January Special Chapel is linked below. We had fun reviewing what we learned in January: our term of the month is crescendo (gradually increasing in volume) and our composer: Franz Schubert. We practiced crescendo with "chugga chuggas" and "Grizzly Bear". We also caught delicious snowflakes on our tongues!! We are about to embark on Jesus' ministry with his disciples (Jesus' followers). It is exciting and inspiring to recount Jesus' miracles and teachings while remembering God's love is for EVERYONE!
February Enrichment links and our snow day read alouds (GBP's Facebook page) are also linked below.

See below for more information regarding LUMC's Mardi Gras Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper with LIVE Jazz music!!! I cannot wait to see there and have breakfast for dinner...my FAV...aside from salmon...and pizza...but not salmon on pizza, that's just silly ;).
Please remember to pull up as far as possible on Wirt Street during drop off and pick up. Also, please do not block the driveway to the left of the Wirt Street doors, we do not own that property. Lastly, please remember (and share with anyone else who may pick up your children): our Owls and Bees are in their classrooms until Noon. If you arrive before noon to pick up your Owls/Bees/siblings, please remain in your vehicle so you can pull up when other parents leave.
-2s and 3s pick up: 11:50am-12pm
-4s and siblings pick up: 12-12:15pm
Event Information
Before the somber days of Lent, it is tradition to go a little wild. Shrove Tuesday’s tradition of eating pancakes began with people trying to use up all the fat in their cupboards before the fasting that characterized Lent.
In the United States, Mardi Gras is associated with laughter, parades, fun, and … of course, New Orleans Jazz. We invite you to join us in some Mardi Gras fun on Tuesday, February 17, anytime between 5 pm and 7 pm in Asbury Hall. We will have a Kids Zone with activities and plenty of room to dance! Pancakes will be hot, the band will be ready, and the welcome is for everyone - friends we’ve known for years and friends we haven’t met.
Please use the QR code below to RSVP! Like they say in New Orleans at Mardi Gras time, “Let the good times roll!"
