Hello Battlefield Families,

As we approach the end of the first quarter of the school year, I encourage you to log into ParentVUE to review your child’s academic progress. This is a great opportunity to celebrate successes and identify areas for growth. If you have any concerns, please reach out to your child’s teacher to discuss strategies for continued academic support. Remember, the quarter grade is a snapshot of the year-end grade, and ongoing collaboration between home and school is key to student success.

We’re also excited to share that students interested in participating in the Prince William-Manassas Regional Science & Engineering Fair may apply for up to $250 to support their research projects. For more information, please contact Mr. John Shaffer, Assistant Principal, at ShaffeJM@pwcs.edu, and students are encouraged to speak with their Science teacher.

Additionally, parents and guardians are invited to complete the PWCS 2026-27 Calendar Survey—your input is valuable in shaping our school year. Please click on this link: PWCS 2026-27 School Calendar Survey

We’re proud to announce that our School Counseling team, led by Julie Byrne, has received the College/Career Allstars recognition from the College and Career Counseling Office for achieving 100% student participation in academic and career planning activities. This is a testament to their dedication and our students’ commitment to their futures. We are Battlefield Proud!

Please be sure to check the school calendar in this Bobcast or on our school website for upcoming closures and events.

Enjoy the weekend!

Transcript SAT/ACT Score Opt Out

Regulations governing secondary school transcripts mandate that local school divisions include

Parents and other persons with legal custody may elect to have their student’s test records excluded from the student’s secondary school transcript. This decision, referred to as an “Opt Out” excludes both SAT and ACT scores from the student’s transcript. Please note that when opting out, parents/guardians assume responsibility for ensuring the appropriate testing organization sends the official score report to the college(s) of choice. Postsecondary institutions generally prefer receiving score reports directly from the testing organization.

Parents/Guardians of seniors who do not want their child’s SAT and ACT scores to appear on their high school transcript must complete the “Transcript SAT/ACT Opt Out” in the ‘Notices, Consents, and Acknowledgements’ section of the Back To School Packet to make their wishes known
