Fisher Family Update October 23, 2026
Fisher FamilyUpdateOctober 23, 2026

Dear Fisher Families,

Yesterday was a beautiful day for the Fisher Fun Run! Students and staff enjoyed getting outside, running together, and cheering each other on. One of the best parts of the day was hearing students encourage their classmates, celebrate each other’s efforts, and keep the excitement going from start to finish. The enthusiasm, teamwork, and school spirit were wonderful to see!

Thank you to all of our students and staff for helping make the day such a success, and a special thank-you to the Fisher PAC for organizing this fantastic event. We are also grateful to our parents and all of our supporters whose generosity and involvement allow the PAC to provide so many wonderful opportunities for our students. Your support helps make Fisher School such a wonderful place to learn and grow!

Have a great weekend,

Brian

Thank You from the PAC Thank You from the PAC

The students had a fantastic day at the 2nd annual Fisher Fun Run. They ran, walked and danced their way around the track and we are thrilled to announce that we officially hit our goal and raised over $26,000!

Thank you to everyone who contributed! Your generosity will help us continue to subsidize field trips and bring in fun speakers and on site events.

With gratitude,
Fisher PAC

Please review these important guidelines regarding our school health procedures and injury policies. These guidelines help keep our students safe, healthy, and ready to learn.

🩹 Student Injuries & Physical Activity Restrictions

  • Notify the Nurse: Parents must report any physical limitations to the school nurse.

  • Doctor's Note for PE: Required if a student misses PE for more than one week. The note must include the exact restriction and its duration.

  • Morning Check-In: Any student coming to school with stitches, cast, sling, ace wrap, hard splint, air boot, or crutches must check in with the nurse before the first class.

🌳 PE and Recess Guidelines During Healing

  • Active Play Restrictions: Students with documented head injuries, stitches, or protective coverings (casts, splints, air boots) cannot participate in PE or active recess.

  • Quiet Recess Option: With the nurse's permission, students can participate in "quiet outdoor recess" (sitting outside at a designated area to read, play board games, or do puzzles with friends).

  • Indoor Recess: If a student cannot stay safely in the quiet area, the principal and nurse will arrange for them to stay indoors.

✅ Returning to Full Activities

  • Once fully healed and coverings are removed, a doctor's note must be submitted stating that the student may participate in all activities without restrictions.

Attendance Policy Attendance Policy

Per the "Walpole Public Elementary Schools Student and Parent Handbook", page 19, Policies and Procedures: Abesences, tardies, and dismissals, with a reason of medical, will not be considered excused unless a doctor medical note is submitted.
