Hello Trailblazers!
10.02.2026
Discovery Families,
This week, Discovery School welcomed North Dakota State Superintendent Levi Bachmeier for a visit to our school. Superintendent Bachmeier has made visiting schools across North Dakota a priority, with the goal of seeing firsthand the work happening in classrooms and hearing directly from educators and students.
During his time at Discovery, Superintendent Bachmeier had the opportunity to visit classrooms, explore our specialized programs and specialty offerings, stop by our cafeteria and enjoy lunch with a group of third graders. His visit allowed him to experience a glimpse of the learning, collaboration and care that happens throughout Discovery each day.
Throughout his visit, Superintendent Bachmeier asked insightful questions and sought the perspectives of our staff. His conversations focused on understanding what is working well in our schools and what we need to continue making education better for students in our community and across North Dakota. We are grateful that Superintendent Bachmeier made Discovery School a priority during his school visits.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ali Parkinson - Principal
Mrs. Jodi Dodson - Associate Principal

When picking up your child at 3pm in the South Visitor Parking Lot, please pull into a designated parking space. Our staff are not able to pull out of their parking spot because of some parents who are parked behind cars, as they wait for their child to dismiss. Please note that there there is not a drive thru lane in the south parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation.

Our school is a nut-free facility to help keep all students safe. Please be sure that any snacks or lunches sent with your child do not contain nuts or nut products.
To help keep all of our students safe, our school district does not allow birthday treats or food items to be brought in due to allergies. We love celebrating students, and non-food items like trinkets, small toys, pencils, or other fun items are always welcome. Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe!
Spills, mud, accidents, and unexpected messes happen! Please send a spare set of clothes in your child’s backpack to keep at school. A shirt, pants/shorts, underwear, and socks can make all the difference when little mishaps happen!
