Principal Message
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I hope you are all enjoying this beautiful Friday,
Despite it only being a 4 day week, this past week was busy. Monday the grade 4-6 Basketball Club wrapped up its season. I want to thank Miss Weninger for all the clubs and extra curriculars she runs for our students. Tuesday, our school council brought burgers from Sammy's as part of the Drax sponsorship. Friday was a PD day where staff looked at the most recent round of HLATS as well as year end field trips.
You should have already received or will soon receive a permission slip to one of the following field trips depending on the class your student or student(s) are in.
Grade 5/6 - June 3rd (pond days)
Grade 3/4 - June 12th
Grade 2/3 - June 5th
K/1 - June 6th
You should also be receiving a form for June 10th Ninja Course at the school soon.
Jk - Will have a letter coming out about their upcoming trip to the Library.
We are also working on a year end wrap up field trip for 5/6.
Mrs. Vankosky will be taking some time off over the next two weeks. If you would normally email her for student absences please use the new wwabsence@gypsd.ca email address. You can also email alanstoy@gypsd.ca if you need to contact the office, or call the school.
Next week Monday is a holiday. We will have our Subway hot lunch on Tuesday. Picnic Lunch on Wednesday. And our School Council meeting after school Wednesday.
On May 30th, we will be having our annual track meet. If you would like to volunteer please see the information in the poster below.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Sincerely,
Alan Stoyles
Principal
Attendance Update
Our automated safe arrival system has been running for a few weeks now. We are gong to make a slight update. Rather that emailing the teacher or Mrs. Vankosky directly we have created a central email. wwabsence@gypsd.ca We are asking that parents who email in absences begin using this email address as it allows us to ensure updated attendance even when teachers of the secretary is away.
