Pine Road Grows Great Kids
Summer Edition: August 18th
A Message from Mrs. McMullan
Dear Pine Road Families,
Welcome to the start of an incredible new school year! While it is hard to believe summer is winding down, our building has been buzzing with energy all season long—from Extended School Year to our ELD and WIN Camp. Very soon, our teachers will be stepping back into their classrooms, collaborating, and preparing to fill our halls with energy, connection, and learning.
Our theme for the year is "Step into Joy!" We are intentionally focusing on creating an uplifting, positive environment where learning is engaging. Guided by our Pine Road Pillars—Kindness, Responsibility, Honesty, and Respect—we are committed to helping every student discover the everyday joys of growth, friendship, and success.
Strong partnerships with our families make all the difference, and keeping you connected is a top priority:
Pine Road Express Newsletter: Look for this twice a month on Thursday mornings—your primary source for key dates, updates, and school happenings.
Live Updates & Social Media: Follow our live feed and check out our Instagram (@lmtsd_pres) for photos and real-time glimpses of Pine Road happenings.
My door is always open. Whether you have a quick question or just want to connect, feel free to reach out directly at kmcmullan@lmtsd.org or 215-938-0290 (ext. 6025).
We can’t wait to see you at our upcoming Back-to-School events as we officially Step into Joy together!
In Partnership,
Kaitlyn McMullan
1st Day of School Dismissal and T-Shirt Size
To ensure a safe and smooth dismissal on the first day of school, we ask that families share dismissal information for their child's first day.
Additionally, we ask that families share their child's t-shirt size. This year all Pine Road students will receive a "Step into Joy" t-shirt, designed by our very own 3rd grader. Students are invited to wear their t-shirts to monthly assemblies, field trips, and other school events.
Please complete this form for EACH child by Wednesday, August 26th.

Additionally, two 20-minute information sessions about technology will be offered.
Please take time to review the schedule carefully to plan an evening that is custom-tailored to your family. We ask that you be on time for sessions. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mrs. McMullan or Mrs. Bradley.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Pine Road's Community Garden
We are excited to again offer a community Garden at Pine Road! We grow and harvest fresh vegetables to donate to local food pantries. Food insecurity is a terrible reality for many people living right here, in Montgomery County. We need your help to maintain the garden through the summer and even into the fall. Mrs. Thierolf has created a garden newsletter for the community to enjoy that can be viewed here.
Please review the available slots and sign up if you are able to adopt the garden for a week. This is an activity you will do on your own with your family. All the directions are in the Sign Up Genius, and there are linked videos to help you learn about the tasks. Please watch them with your children in preparation for your garden visit. Please make every effort to stay committed to the time slot you select. Three families are scheduled to volunteer each week. If you have questions, concerns, or would like to send pictures, please contact Mrs. Thierolf at rthierolf@lmtsd.org.
