Dear SHS Families,
It was nice to have the school come back alive this week with the return of students to the building. Watching routines fall back into line, students getting back into their course materials, and having fun in the lunchroom and outside are where the mission of SHS comes alive each day, and I missed it over the break.
I want to thank everyone who completed the intent to return form in December. That information helps us make important enrollment and staffing decisions for the following year. If we didn’t receive a form from your family, I will likely be reaching out next year to gain a little bit more insight into your family’s intentions. Again, these forms and conversations are not binding in any way, but having a basis for future planning is monumental for the school.
As many have noticed and commented on, there was a new gate and fence constructed on the west side of the parking lot. This was made possible due to the generous donation, and students and staff are already enjoying the added benefits of more secure fencing on that side of the building. I want to thank our donor from the school office and express my happiness with the project.
As a part of our new accreditor, Lumen, we will need to engage in a community survey this month. I will be sharing out instructions for this survey early next week, and it will be available until the end of January. Your feedback is not just valuable as a part of the accreditation process, but the feedback given will help shape the strategic direction and priorities of the school. Your participation is greatly appreciated.
There are a lot of fun things coming up in January for our families to participate in. Be sure to look for information regarding our Movie Matinee, Trivia Night, and all the events surrounding Catholic Schools Week. It’ll be a fun time for all. So, don’t miss out.
