2.20.26

Successful Bond Refinancing
- The district refinanced older bonds to take advantage of lower interest rates, replacing debt that cost about 5% interest with new bonds costing about 2.93%, while still paying everything off by 2037.
- After costs, the refinancing will save the district about $1.65 million in interest, equal to $1.39 million in today’s dollars (about 11% of the refinanced amount).
- The refinancing also allows the district to pay off its School Bond Loan Fund loan one year earlier, avoiding an estimated $349,000 in additional interest.
- In total, the district is projected to save about $2 million, with no increase to the bond millage rate, and increased future bonding capacity

Superintendent Message
What a great week across our district. You can feel the momentum, strong instruction in classrooms, students staying engaged, staff supporting one another, and families continuing to show up for our kids. That kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident. It happens because of the people in this community.
We’re officially five weeks away from spring break. This stretch between now and then is important. It’s where focus, effort, and daily habits really make a difference. Let’s keep pushing forward, supporting our students, and helping them finish this part of the year strong.
To our staff, thank you for the energy and care you bring every single day. To our families, thank you for your partnership and encouragement at home. And to our students, keep showing up, working hard, and taking pride in your growth.
