Week 20

This week, we gave a big shoutout to our amazing Eagles! We celebrated their hard work and dedication during our Awards Assembly, and we are incredibly proud of all they’ve accomplished. Be sure to check out the presentation coming out this week to see all of our students’ successes! If there was a student that we missed for attendance, Honor Roll, etc, please let us know right away and we will make it right with the student and update the presentation. Please let us know by Wednesday, January 21, 2026
We are also pushing strong attendance this month. Parents, it is essential that you document your child’s tardies and absences. Currently, we are sitting at over 2,000 unexcused absences, and every one of them must be accounted for. This week, you will receive forms to complete for any absences your child has had since the beginning of the school year.
You have until February 4th to document all absences.
Please remember:
-
Documented absences are your child’s ticket into the Valentine’s Day Dance.
-
We are required to document all tardies as well. Please return all yellow tardy forms when your child is late.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us keep accurate and timely attendance records.

🦅 Great Weekend to Be an Eagle! 🦅
It was another big win this weekend for our Eagles! Girls and Boys Basketball teams both pulled out a big W to go 4-0 on the season!
Way to go teams!!!
Chromebook Fundraiser!
You can’t miss the headlines about the CPS budget challenges this year. As a result, the responsibility for replacing the devices our students use every day has now fallen on individual schools. Our current Chromebooks are at the end of their life, and many are truly hanging on by a thread.
To ensure our Eagles have the tools they need to learn, the Eagle Alliance Movement is launching a major fundraiser to support the purchase of new class sets of Chromebooks. Our goal is to replace three classroom sets this year, and then at least one classroom set every year moving forward.
Each device costs the school about $500, so this fundraiser is essential. If we hit our goal of $35,000 in popcorn sales, we can replace 35–40 devices immediately.
4-Day Popcorn Sale: January 23–27
This fundraiser is only four days long, so every share, every account opened, and every bag sold makes a big impact in a short amount of time.
TEAM Incentive
If at least half of our Eagles open a Double Good account and sell at least one bag of popcorn, our school will unlock a TEAM incentive for all participating students.
Don’t Want Your Own Popcorn Link? No Problem!
If you prefer not to open your own Double Good account, you can simply use the TEAM account to sell popcorn. Our school receives 50% of every single sale, no matter which link is used. Using the TEAM link is an easy and impactful way to participate and help us reach our goal—even without creating your own seller page.
Thank you for supporting our Eagles and helping us invest in the tools they need to succeed!

Volunteer Process
To volunteer at Jungman, you need clearance, EVERY SCHOOL YEAR, from Chicago Public Schools! This requires a few steps!
- Login/Create an account online
- Bring your photo ID to the office or email it to Ms. Jessica at jmoreno83@cps.edu
- WATCH for an email from CPS that has a video you need to watch. When you complete the video, you download and send a copy of the certificate to volunteer@cps.edu
If you don't follow these steps, you will not be approved! This is not a Jungman policy, this is a District Policy!
