Note from the Principals Note from the Principals

It was wonderful seeing so many families at the first PTO meeting and Ice Cream Social! Special thanks to the PTO and volunteers for providing these opportunities for our school community to connect. Please be reminded that ALL Edison parents/guardians are automatically members of our PTO and are encouraged to get involved. Our next meeting will be Wednesday, October 2nd at 7:00 pm.

Our first Marco's Pizza Night also had a great turnout and raised over $250 for our school. Thank you for your orders, and congratulations to Mrs. Huber's kindergarten class for earning a class pizza party! Our next Edison Marco's Pizza Night is Thursday, October 10th. There is also an ongoing school challenge, so please mention/select Edison any time you order this school year.

Ohio School Report Cards are compiled annually by the state to provide parents, caregivers, community members, educators, and policymakers information about district and school performance — to celebrate successes and identify areas for improvement. Ohio Districts and schools receive overall ratings of 1 to 5 stars in half-star increments. The 2023-2024 report cards came out this past Friday, and we are proud to announce that Edison earned a 4-star rating! This score reflects our commitment to our students and community.

This is Start With Hello week, which is dedicated to making new social connections and creating a sense of belonging among youth. Please see the reminder below regarding the specific spirit days.

We hope to see you at our first Edison Skating Party this Thursday, September 19th from 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm.

PHOTO DAY IS COMING! Edison Elementary School's Photo day is Thursday, September 26th! There are two different options for ordering this year:

1. You can use this link to pre-register and opt in to see your students photos once they are ready (approx 10 days after photo day). You will need your students first name, last name and student ID number exactly as it appears in PowerSchool to log in.

The online photo gallery link will give you lots of different options along with allowing you to see before you buy and the orders will ship right to your house (shipping costs apply).

2. If you prefer to use a traditional paper order form, the office does have some on hand. Please contact the school office if you'd like us to send one home. Be sure to have your student bring the completed order form on picture day, along with payment, and give it to the photographer at their scheduled photo time. These photographs will not be able to be viewed ahead of time, and will be sent to the school once processed.

If you have any questions Cirino Photography is here to help! They can be reached at 440 953-8200!

Arrival and Dismissal Arrival and Dismissal

We request and appreciate your cooperation in order to make arrival & dismissal safe for our students and staff.

Car & Walker Arrival:

  • Students arriving to school by car may be dropped off between 8:25 am and 8:45 am in our front loop. Please do not drop students off until you see a staff member OUTSIDE the building to greet and supervise them.

  • Please pull all the way forward to the car in front of you to maximize drop-off space.

  • In order to keep the car line moving, it is important that you remain in your car and have your child ready to exit from the passenger side of the car. Staff is available to help students as needed.

  • Students will be directed to exit the car once they are in the “blue unloading zone”.

  • For safety purposes, parents are not able to park in our lot and walk students into school in the mornings. If you are driving your child to school, please use the car line.

  • Parents who walk their kids to school are asked to say goodbye when they get to the sign that indicates “students only beyond this point”.

Dismissal:

  • Please make sure the teacher is aware of your child's regular school dismissal plans. Changes in dismissal plans should be communicated by emailing edisonoffice@weschools.org by 1:00 pm on the date of the change. This ensures that our secretaries have time to relay the message to the teacher/student(s).

  • If you will be picking up your child in the car line, please fill out this CAR TAG REQUEST FORM. We will send home the car tag with the child indicated on your form. Car tags should be clearly displayed in the front windshield as you enter Edison’s driveway.

  • If your child has permission to walk or ride a bike home, please fill out this WALKER TAG REQUEST FORM

    • Note: Students in grades K-2 are not permitted to walk home without being accompanied by an older sibling or a parent that will walk up to the sign out front (we will match walker tags).

  • The car line will start moving around 2:40 pm and students should be picked up by 2:55 pm. If you don’t like waiting in line, it’s best to arrive around 2:50 pm! By then, the line is moving.

Crossroads Crossroads

If you believe your child is experiencing challenges in terms of their mental well-being, it is important to reach out to your principal. To meet your child’s needs, it’s essential to collaborate with the principal and school personnel to explore resources and services available at school. In addition to Crossroads Counselors, the District also has family liaisons and guidance counselors who can provide needed interventions and support.
